Strålande jul
Glans över vita skogar
Himmelens kronor
Med gnistrande ljus
Glimmande bågar
I alla Guds hus
Psalm som är sjungen
Eviga längtan
Till ljus och frid
Jul jul
Strålande jul
Glans över vita skogar
Kom kom
Signade jul
Sänk dina vita vingar
Över stridernas
Blod och larm
Över all suckan
Ur människobarm
Över de släkten
Som gå till ro
Över de ungas
Dagande bo
Kom kom
Signade jul
Sänk dina vita vingar
The lyrics of Åsa Jinder's "Jul Jul Strålande Jul", much like most Christmas carols, are layered with religious imagery and symbolism. The song speaks of the glory of Christmas, with its shining lights and the heavenly crowns that seem to adorn the sky. The lyrics describe the beauty of winter with the snow-covered forests, twinkling lights, and sparkling arches that decorate all of God's houses. The song also refers to the eternal longing of humanity for peace and light, which this festival brings in abundance. The first stanza is a hymn that has been sung throughout time, emphasizing that Christmas is a timeless tradition that carries deep meaning for people of all generations.
The second stanza of the song shifts its focus to contemporary times, but the message remains the same - Christmas is a time for peace and unity, even in the midst of strife and struggle. The song urges the blessed Christmas to descend upon the world and calm the noise of wars and battles. It speaks to the pain and suffering of all people, the cries that emanate from their hearts. The song requests Christmas to bless the families who have lost their loved ones, and to watch over the young generation of mankind. The final line urges Christmas to come down, its wings of white to envelop us all, signifying the desire to be wrapped in the comforting embrace of this beautiful religious festival.
