It's an Omen
It's an Omen
Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
It's an Omen
It's an Omen
Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
You just run on automation
Now!
Now!
Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
You just run on automation
Now!
The Writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
It's an Omen
It's an Omen
Now!
It's an Omen
Now!
Now!
Now!
Now!
The lyrics to "Omen" by The Prodigy seem to be about an ominous feeling or force that is impossible to ignore. The repetition of "it's an omen" emphasizes the intensity of this feeling, as if the singer is trying to convince themselves or others of its significance. The line "the writing's on the wall, it won't go away" adds to the sense of inevitability and premonition, suggesting that the omen is a message that cannot be ignored or avoided. The use of the phrase "run on automation" implies a lack of agency or control on the part of the listener, further emphasizing the overwhelming power of the omen.
Overall, the song seems to convey a sense of dread and foreboding in the face of forces beyond our control. It's possible that the lyrics are meant to reflect the chaos and uncertainty of the modern world, with the omen standing in for any number of potential disasters or crises.

It's so self referencing but still so fresh. I love it.
Many musicians tend to shun their early work, especially if it becomes "unfashionable" or subjectively less intelligent or evolved as later stuff.
But this track is like a big declaration of "fuck that, I'm PROUD of everything we've done"
It's like the spirit of their earlier stuff but re-mastered in 4k HDR and then a sprinkle of all other other periods in their career.
Some critics considered it a lazy re-tread but I see it more as a celebration of their music and not being afraid to look back and acknowledge where they came from while still moving forward.
