In the 1980s and 1990s, he would soon go on to be well-known for a wide selection of Tokusatsu music; notably a great number of insert themes contributed to Super Sentai series such as the opening for Choudenshi Bioman, as well as the opening and closing themes for Kamen Rider BLACK RX and opening themes for the "Metal Hero" series Tokkei Winspector, Tokyuu Shirei Solbrain, and Tokusou Exceedraft. He has also contributed vocals for insert themes to the animated television series Kinnikuman, Galaxy Angel Z and The King of Braves GaoGaiGar.
In 2003, a battle with pancreatic cancer temporarily brought his career to a halt; he recovered and staged a comeback beginning with his appearance at the Japan Anime Fest in 2004. Aside from ongoing theme song recording, he is currently involved closely with a local Ibaraki band called "Logan."
He has a close friendship with fellow Metal Hero theme song vocalist Akira Kushida.

なにかが遠く 待っていると
あざやかに 血が燃える
生まれた理由が 今わかる
Run&Run! Run&Run!
Run&Run! Run&Run!
ためらわず 走れ
もう 別れの涙も
乾きかけてる
新しい 日が昇る
道の向こうで
誰かが 手を振る
"肩並べて 走ろう"と
Run&Run! Run&Run!
風になり 走れ
さあ 昨日のお前を
越えてゆくんだ
立ちむかえ 自分より
大きなものに
そうさ 若さは
燃えつきない 流星だ
The lyrics to 宮内タカユキ's song Nagareboshi Gin speak to the human desire to find purpose and meaning in life. The first stanza suggests that there is something waiting for us in the distance, and that we will finally understand our reason for being when we reach it. The lines "Run & Run!" represent the urgency with which we should pursue our dreams, and the metaphor of becoming the wind emphasizes the importance of being free and unencumbered.
In the second stanza, the singer is tempted by the comfort of their past and the people who care for them, but they recognize that they cannot deny their dreams. The lines "Run & Run!" are repeated, emphasizing the importance of pushing forward despite obstacles or doubts. The final lines suggest that our youth and vitality are like shooting stars, burning brightly and making an impact on the world.
Overall, the lyrics of Nagareboshi Gin encourage listeners to follow their dreams and not give up until they have achieved their goals. The metaphor of becoming the wind and leaving one's past and comfort behind is reminiscent of many hero's journeys in literature and mythology.
