Iki kau hito, mishiranu kao, futo furikaetta
Kikoeta yōna, yoba reta yōna, son′na ki ga shita 'nda
Ima, koko ni, nani ga aru ka?
You know? I don′ t know! Kotae wa nai
Futo ukabu osanai kao, tomatta toki!
Nani mo nai dō shiyō mo nai wakatteru Ah ah...
Isagiyoku warau kao So bad
Itsu made doko made oikake teru
Mukashi no jibun ga iru Tell me
Mayoi wanai, ashita mo nai, mukashi mou ima mou
Koko de hitori, itsumo hitori, sugoshi teta hibi,
Sō subete, jibun no te de, I do, KILL someone! Ikinuite kita
Kono, ima o, kechira su yō ni, asu o kiru!
Dōshitemo, kōshite mo, nani mo mienai
Taikutsuna hibi wa mō mono,
Kono-me de kono-te de kizuita mono
Subete o sutete mo ī, Go way...
Ima koko ni nani ga aru ka?
You know? I don' t know! Kotae wa nai!
Futo ukabu osanai kao, Tomatta toki
Dōshitemo kōshite mo nani mo mienai
Taikutsuna hibi wa mō no,
Kono-me de, kono-te de kizuita mono
Subete o sutete mo ī!
Nani mo nai dō shiyō mo nai wakatteru Ah ah...
Isagiyoku warau kao So bad

Itsu made, doko made oikake teru, mukashi no jibun ga iru...
Tell me... Tell me...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Hegemony Of The Food Chain" by 平野義久 (Yoshihisa Hirano) reflect themes of introspection, uncertainty, and the desire for self-discovery. The singer observes a person they don't know, who suddenly catches their attention. They wonder what is happening in their world, but both the singer and the person they're observing don't have the answers. It seems like the person suddenly pauses, their expression revealing a sense of innocence. The singer recognizes that there is nothing for them to do or say in this situation, feeling a sense of helplessness.

Throughout the song, the singer contemplates their own existence and the pursuit of happiness. They mention that they are always alone, spending their days here, with the past, present, and future blending together. They have experienced hardships and have had to fight to survive. But despite everything, they continue on, cutting through the present to shape the future.

The repetitive nature of the lyrics suggests a cycle of searching for answers and finding oneself in a constant state of confusion. The song explores the human condition, the struggle of finding purpose, and the desire to break free from the monotony of life.

@idir bouchdoug I mean...he lost the fight but in the end he survived...im pretty sure most other Hunters would have stood even less of chance considering Pitou has more Aura than Netero..

I love this song. The first time it played during their first encounter with Rammot, it really did a good job of conveying how much more dangerous and brutal the Chimera Ants were than anything Gon and Killua faced before.

@nousername636

Minor, but it played the episode before (80) when Gyro was getting stomped out

@Jaenoe818

@@nousername636true, the gyro episode is the one where I knew this arc meant business

Listening to this song always reminds me of how unbelievably astounding Hunter X Hunter is. Like everyone else I grew up with DBZ, but I have to honestly say that HXH is my favorite over DBZ.
