The lyrics to 秦基博's song やわらかな午後に遅い朝食を speak to the laziness and fear that can sometimes hold us back from taking action in our lives. It begins with the singer having a late breakfast in a soft afternoon, feeling sluggish and uninspired. They admit that they have been feeling down lately and that they have been unable to make positive changes in their life. They are frustrated with themselves for being unable to adapt to new situations and want to break this cycle.
The singer then describes how the warmth of the afternoon sun on their hand feels comforting and protective against their lost passion. They realize that they do not need to do anything drastic to bring back their own passion, just getting started with something new would be enough. They breathe in and look at themselves in their coffee, understanding that they can still start something new no matter how late in the day it is.
The song concludes by saying that maybe, one day, the singer will find answers to all their questions beyond the moistness in the west sky. They want to move forward without fear and not be intimidated by the prospect of new beginnings. Overall, the message of the song seems to be that it is never too late to begin anything, as long as one is willing to take the first step.
