Ryokuoshoku Shakai was formed via four friends, three of which were classmates, in Aichi, Japan. They started their activities in 2012. In 2013, they came in second place during the SCHOOL OF LOCK x Sonymusic 10dai Ongaku Festival "Senkou Riot". Since then, they have released three limited venue singles and two mini-albums via Tower Records, and they sold out their November and December 2017 tour. Their eponymous first full-length album is to be released on March 14th 2018.

The first verse of 緑黄色社会's song 丘と小さなパラダイム starts by describing a hill with a clear view. The mist-covered emotions are thrown into the town, overlapping with the translucent ceiling, and falling quickly onto the loosely slackened power lines. The second verse continues with the hill releasing a magnificent reverb that shrinks the objects with visual perspective while the people, dressing according to the location, also become small. The traffic lights and street lamps raise their heads as if facing the human beings who cannot change the world. Despite coming to such a high place, they only look down.
