She made her solo debut in October 2010 in which she took a different approach with her music and image than her fellow bandmate, Narsha: specifically, her music incorporated tango nuevo, Latin, and jazz elements. Out of the four Brown Eyed Girls' members, she was the second one to have a solo career.
2010: Solo Debut
She released here debut album, Step 2/4 in October 2010, the title track of this album was "Irreversible". On December 21, 2010 a digital single called, Bad Temper was released and it contained the song "Bad Temper".
2012: Talk About S
Ga-in was featured on a cover of Yoon Il-sang's song "For You Not To Know" for the singer Yoon Il-sang's 21st anniversary album Yoon Il-sang 21st Anniversary Album: I'm 21. In April 2012, she sung a duet song with JY Park (JYP, Park Jinyoung) called "Someone Else". The duet song highest ranking was number 2 on the Gaon Weekly Singles chart.
Ga-In's second EP Talk About S was released on October 5, 2012. With the title track being "Bloom", compared to her debut title track, "Irreversible", "Bloom" had a more brighter sound. The physical album had 4 more other tracks while the digital album included a track that featured Shinhwa member Eric Mun called "Nostalgia (feat. Eric Mun)".
2013: Romantic Spring and "Gentleman"
Ga-in collaborated with singer Cho Hyung-woo to make the EP Romantic Spring, the EP was released on April 8, 2012. Later that month, on April 13, 2013 Ga-in was in PSY's music video for his song "Gentleman". Within the video she did one of Brown Eyed Girls' famous dances, "the arrogant dance" which was in their song "Abracadabra".
On October 8, 2013, was the day IU's album Modern Times was released which featured Ga-In as a guest singer for the track "Everybody Has Secrets (feat.가인)" (누구나 비밀은 있다).
2014: Truth or Dare
Her EP Truth or Dare was released on February 6, 2014. The EP contained the title track "Truth or Dare". It also contained the song, "Fxxk U (feat. Bumkey)" which had a theme about domestic violence.
Later in the year, she appeared in KARA's Goo Hara's reality show Hara ON & OFF as her friend.
2015 - 2016: Hawwah and End Again
Ga-In's fourth EP with a Bible influenced concept, Hawwah was released on March 12, 2015. "Paradise Lost" and "Apple (feat. Jay Park)" were the lead singles. The song "Paradise Lost" was inspired by John Milton's epic poem of the same name.
Ga-In released her first full album, End AgainOn September 8, 2016. The lead single of the album was "Carnival (The Last Day)".

It's a lot of symbolism in one video, all of the themes revolving around Gain and her lover, being the embodiment of Eve and the serpent. They succumb to the first temptation and they lose their Paradise, as is written in holy texts. She's not rewriting philosophy class, but instead puts herself in the spotlight as she talk as about her story through these metaphors. Notice the hedonistic nature of the video, it tends to value lust and pleasure over Eve protecting her innocence and her place in paradise. Also in the bridge she mentions
"They're making up a story,
So they can control you and me"
Basically calling out people who use religion as a tool to oppress and restrict people's freedom. This is the exact kind of controversy we've come to expect from Gain, and she delivers it well.
Most of this music video is captured from the perspective of the serpent looking at Eve - the same way that Bloom was pictured intimately from the eyes of her lover - Gain's character is given depth and is depicted having as her own right to sexual pleasure. The representation of the serpent though, is equally, if not more eye-catching, striking and meaningful.
The best scene still goes to the stills from 3:20 onwards, where
1. Eve and the serpent get separate choreography takes.
2. The frames are then placed alternately over each other,
3. Then mirroring each other vertically and alternating again.
It's fantastic how the distinction between the eve and the serpent is established. Both characters are seen as equal and opposite to each other, duality and harmony shown via means of cinematography, editing, colour-grading and wardrobe choices. This allows it to easily avoid colorist implications, unlike straight out painting your skin black to represent evil /side eyes RM and Coup D'Etat/
I bet we'll still be talking about this video years from now. Great job all in all from Gain and her team.

***** Paradise lost is an epic poem written by John Milton in the 1600's. It's about the fall from the garden of eden.
the music video actually has a lot of different possible meanings which is really impressive for a music video, they're usually pretty black and white with their meanings.
one i got was that when Gain was wearing black she was the snake tempting eve (wearing white). you can see eve copying the language the snake uses.
Another was that the fall might have been a good thing. Here it probably means sex. Everyone tells girls that they should be pure and save their first time and that after sex they will be fallen and dirty. Here she's saying that actually it's freeing and not evil as everyone says

이 명작은 내 최애 뮤비이다. 노래랑 안무가 뛰어난것뿐 아니라, 영상이 1도 흠없이 완벽하고 엄청난 양의 상징적 의미를 담고있다.
1. 오리지날 실낙원 (Paradise Lost) 은 하와가 뱀의 꼬임에 넘어가서 금단의 열매인 선악과를 먹음으로서 시작된 인류의 타락을 그렸다.
선악과는 (하나님이 인간을 창조했다는 전제하에) 성경에서 성관계를 의미하지만 동시에 쾌락이라는 매혹적인 존재이다.
오리지날 스토리에서는 하와를 순수하고 경건한 하나님의 자식인 아담을 죄악으로 이끄는 여성으로 그렸지만,
가인은 하와를 자신의 의지로 자유의지 따위는 존재하지 않는 낙원을 떠나는 주도적인 여성으로 그려낸다.
2. 가인은 교회의 오르간이 있는 낙원에서 시작한다 (내 생각에는 일부러 처음 시작하는 장소를 예쁘고 아늑하게 꾸미지 않은것 같다)
가인은 뱀의 조언을 듣고 머뭇거리지만 천천히 매혹적인 선악과를 향해 다가간다. (1:42 까지 머뭇거리는듯 선악과 문양이 있는 문을 쳐다봄)
선악과가 성관계를 의미하는 것은 가인이 침대같은 것 위에서 자신의 의지로 파이프에서 나오는 물을 통해 목을 축인다 (침대가 있는곳은 선악과 문을 이미 통과한 곳)
3. 하와가 거울을 바라보는것은 자아성찰을 함과 동시에 자유의지를 만들어 나가는 과정이다. 간간히 보이는 거울속 시계의 의미는 하나님의 법도를 어김에 대한 (성관계를 탐한것)
대가를 뜻한다 = 죽음. 거울속 아름다운 자신을 동경하며 그녀는 마침내 자유의지로 그녀 자신을 매혹적인 여성으로 표현하는 것을 선택한다. 이 부분에서 화면이 번쩍거리는것은
그녀의 자아가 천천히 변하고 있는것을 표현함. 그리고 번쩍거리는것이 완전히 끝나고 어두워졌을때 마침내 낙원을 떠나는것으로 마음을 먹는다
4. 가인이 흑과 백으로 옷을 입는것 : 처음에는 가인을 검은 뱀( 유혹의 목소리) 로 표현. 가인의 흰옷은 죄악을 저지르기전 하와의 순수하고 깨끗한 상태를 나타낸다.
그녀가 죄를 저지르는 순간 흑과 백이 겹쳐보이기도 하고 섞여간다. 이것은 하나님의 단순하지만 순수하고 깨끗한 동물이 선과 악의 복잡한 성격을 가지는 인물로 진화함을 나타냄.
5. 뱀과 하와는 안무에서 나타나는것 처럼 하나의 존재로 나타난다. 이는 죄악은 우리 안에서 생긴다는것을 표현한다. 초반부에서 하와의 하얗고 (하와) 긴 (뱀같은) 드레스
하와와 뱀이 애초에 같은 존재라고 나타낸다. 뱀은 그저 그녀 속에 있던 유혹의 목소리가 구체화 된것임을 나타낸다
6. 마지막 장면은 그야말로 최고다 : 지옥에 떨어져 자신의 죄와 고통에 무릎꿇은 남자들 가운데서 그녀 혼자 빛속에 있다. 그녀 또한 남자들처럼
지옥에떨어졌지만, 그녀는 하나님을, 겁먹은 듯하지만, 마치 후회와 회한이 없는 듯이 바라보고있다. 마지막에는 얕은 미소까지 지으면서 말이다.
그녀는 가사처럼 에덴에서 추방당했지만 새로운 파라다이스를 만끽한것이다.
7. 난 많은 가인의 노래에서 패미니스트의 의미가 담긴것을 볼수있다. 피어나에서는 여성 자위행위를, fxxk you 에서는 ‘싫다면 싫은거다 (거절) 을 표현
당연히 파라다이스 로스트는 섹스와 탐욕에 대한것이다. 하지만 그냥 단순하게 여성을 객관화 한것이 아니라 주관적으로 표현한다 (다른 k-pop 노래들과는 다르게)
이런것들은 여성을 성적인 관계에서 자발적인 의사 결정자로서 나타낸다.(원래부터 그래왔었음) . 지옥에 떨어져도 후회없는 반역을 일으킨 하와에 반해, 고통스러워 하는 남성들이 나오는 마지막 부분 전까지 남자들이 한번도 안나오는것을 보라. 가인이 만약에 그냥 야하게 표현하고 싶었다면 현아처럼 했을수도 있다 (나도 현아 엄청 좋아하지만, 현아의 노래나 뮤직비디오에서 이정도의 예술성을 찾아볼수는 없다)

진짜 중간에 뱀 춤이랑 발톱 다 빠져가면서 연습하고 이 안무 제대로 소화하려고 현대무용까지 배웠다는데 저 노래 나왔을 당시에 성희롱하고 야하다고 하면서 욕한 사람들에게 너무 화가 났었는데 이제서야 인정받는 것 같아서 너무 기분 좋다 언니 기다릴게요ㅠㅠ

아트오토 나는 오히려 이런 의상이 안무를 더 극대화한다고 봄. 의상이랑 골반춤이 뱀 머리를 묘사하는 것 같고 망사가 뱀 허물을 표하는 거고 무용수들이 다리를 다 드러내서 안무를 더 잘 표현하기 위해서 그러는 것 처럼 말임 그리고 음방보면 의상 이렇지 않기도 하고 뮤비는 좀 더 선정적이긴 하지만 어떻게 보면 무대에서는 표현 못하는 걸 보여주려한 것 같음
