Shinhwa was formed under SM Entertainment; however, it moved to Good Entertainment in July 2003, upon the expiration of their contract. Whilst under Good Entertainment as Shinhwa, each of the members pursued their own solo careers under individual companies. The group also mentored Korean boy band Battle. In 2011, members of the group formed Shinhwa Company to continue to perform together. They made their comeback to the music industry in March 2012, after a four year hiatus, during which the band members served individual mandatory military services, with the release of their tenth album "The Return" and concert tour.
On 1 May, the company announced the release of "The Classic" on 16 May. This is followed by an Asian concert tour, "2013 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Classic" in support of the album. The lead track for the album is "This Love", with the MV featuring Japanese actress Fujii Mina. After three weeks of music program appearances, the track collected eight first place wins, including the Triple Crown on M! Countdown, two each from Show Champion and Music Core; and one from Music Bank.
In September 2014, Shinhwa's agency, Shinhwa Company to be renamed as ShinCom Entertainment due to trademark issues for Joon Media and SM Entertainment. In May 2015, after 12 years of long battle, Shinhwa finally won the lawsuit over Joon Media and re-renamed their agency as Shinhwa Company.
They also have a record on Guinness Book as the longest running group in the world which haven't had one member leave or have not disband for 19 years.

English: For those of you that don't know them, Shinhwa (신화) means myth/legend and is the longest running male K-Pop group in existence with no member changes and no breaks in promotions (meaning they didn't have any announced group hiatuses). They were the second male group produced by SM and the company had them train and prepare as the official "star group" of SM as they had not anticipated HOT's unprecedented popularity. Shinhwa's first album didn't do as well as initially hoped and as they prepared for their second album, the members decided that if things did not pan out, they would accept that they were not destined for stardom and find different paths in their individual lives. However, their second album "T.O.P." was extremely popular and Shinhwa has since continued to solidify their status hit after hit after hit. They weren't without their share of problems and issues but they are well-respected in the K-Pop industry not only for their music, but for their development as a group and their ability to argue and resolve through issues between themselves and their management companies. Since 1998, they are now 23 years in the making.
