The band was formed by rapper Jared Gomes, also known as "M.C.U.D." (MC Underdog), and guitarist Wes Geer, who became friends amidst the Orange County hardcore punk scene. Gomes and Geer recruited guitarist Chizad, bassist Mawk, drummer B.C. Vaught and DJ Product © 1969. They named the group "Hed", which stands for "higher education". The band built a following with their energetic performances at local venues, and released the self-financed extended play, Church of Realities. Legal issues forced Hed to change their name, adding PE, which stood for Planet Earth.

Monkey suit man
Shamu, 5.0, flatfoot
Make less money than a damn school teacher
Ignorant redneck
Squeal, squeal, squeal
I'm gettin' tired of dealing with the p-i-g-c-o-w-a-r-d
Cro-Magnum, meter maid fed, cinder block (hed)
Your pencil neck's about to break
Coward, coward
What's with that chip on your shoulder?
What's with that chip on your shoulder?
Vacuum
Vak-yoom brain ded
Oink-oink, cornfed
No action seein'
Glorified security guard
Causin' more trouble than you find on your silly beat
Useless & integrated
The hate and race war you perpetuate will soon end
Then, you'll be unemployed
Checkin' my ID for a livin'
Insecure, power struck excuse for a pig
Smell the bacon fryin'
See it dyin' in my nice dreams
Slice these officers
Bleedin' from the cap that me just twisted back-snap!
Slut
Coward, coward
What's with that chip on your shoulder?
What's with that chip on your shoulder?
The song "Schpamb" by (hed) Planet Earth is a scathing critique of law enforcement officials who abuse their power and perpetuate hate and racism. The lyrics use derogatory names for police officers, referring to them as G.I. Joe boy, monkey suit man, and glorified security guard, to name a few. The singer sings about how these officers make less money than school teachers, and yet they cause more trouble than they solve. The lyrics also suggest that these officers are racist, with lines like "ignorant redneck" and "the hate and race war you perpetuate will soon end."
The song is filled with anger and frustration towards law enforcement officials who abuse their power and prey on vulnerable communities. The singer sings about how these officers are insecure and power-hungry, how they check his ID for a living, and how they smell like frying bacon. The repeated refrain of "what's with that chip on your shoulder?" is a challenge to these officers to explain why they behave the way they do and to confront their own biases and prejudices.
Overall, "Schpamb" is a powerful and provocative critique of law enforcement and the systemic racism and abuse of power that plagues many police departments in the United States. The song calls for reform and accountability, and it challenges listeners to confront their own biases and to work towards creating a more just and equitable society.
