800 db cloud
100 gecs Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

He said, "I love you," on the plane, I said, "I love you too"
He said, "Everything is different now, everything has changed
Always on a plane, always something new"
I said, "Nothing's new, nothing's changed, I still need you"
I'm 'bout to hit the boof
I'm smokin' somethin' new

No rules, then I smoke, then it's all gone
Hit that G so hard that I fall off
Taking shots in the dark, that's a bad call
Going straight for your head, gotta saw it off
(Go, go, go, go, go)
I got a bag on the way
(Go, go, go, go, go)
Smokin' a zip in a day
(Go, go, go, go, go)
What were you trying to say?
(Go, go, go, go, go)
Making it up on the way

I never say what I need, when I need you
Never say what I need, when I need you
I'm good on the weed but I need you
I might hit the weed, I might hit the boof
I'm addicted to Monster, money, and weed, yeah
I'm blowin' clouds so loud, you can't fuckin' see, yeah
I'm addicted to everything that I see, yeah
I'm addicted to making money off weed, yeah
I might go and throw my phone into the lake, yeah
It ain't hard to quit caring what you think, yeah
Burnt me one too many times like a tree, yeah
Now there's fire raining down on your screams, yeah

I hit the big boof then it's all gone
I hit the big boof then it's gone
I hit the big boof and the weed, yeah
I hit the big boof then it's gone
Just shut the fuck up, where's the weed at?
Just shut the fuck up, where's the weed?

Just please fuck me up, where's the weed at?
Just shut the fuck up

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "800db Cloud" by 100 gecs are a mix of different themes that revolve around addiction, love, and feeling lost. The opening lines show a conversation between two people, where one person says "I love you" and the other person replies "I love you too." However, the second person states that everything has changed and that they are always on a plane, always something new. The first person reaffirms their love and states that nothing's new, nothing's changed, and they still need each other.

The song then shifts to a more chaotic tone where the singer talks about smoking something new and not following any rules. The lyrics talk about getting high and taking shots in the dark, which references making bad decisions while under the influence of drugs. The chorus of the song repeats the line, "I'm addicted to Monster, money, and weed," indicating that the singer is struggling with addiction and possibly using these substances to escape their problems.

As the song progresses, the lyrics talk about feeling lost and hurt by others. The singer says they have been burnt too many times like a tree and now there's fire raining down on your screams. This line can be interpreted as feeling like they have been hurt so much that they are numb and can't feel anything anymore. The song ends with the line, "Just shut the fuck up, where's the weed at?" which reinforces the idea that the singer is using drugs to cope with their problems.

Overall, "800db Cloud" is a complex song that deals with themes of addiction, love, and feeling lost. The lyrics reflect the singer's desire to escape their problems and find comfort in drugs and other vices.

@dichotomae

If we can get enough people in one place and all hit the boof at once, we could hypothetically make an 800dB cloud. On average, a human exhaling is around 30dB, so we just have to figure out how many 30dB exhales we need to add together to make 800dB. The decibel scale is logarithmic (log is log10), so we use the following formula:

SPL = 10·log(10^(L1/10)+10^(L2/10)+...+10^(Ln/10)

We already know SPL (sound pressure level) is going to be 800, and each L (level) is 30, so we get:

800 = 10·log(10^(30/10)+10^(30/10)+...+10^(30/10)

Since each L is the same, we can simplify that to:

800 = 10·log(n·(10^(30/10)

And now we just need to solve for n:

800 = 10·log(n·10^3)
800 = 10·log(n·1000)
80 = log(n·1000)
10^80 = n·1000
(10^80)/1000 = n
10^77 = n

Awesome! Now we know we just need 10^77 people to exhale at once to create an 800dB cloud. 10^77 is 10 multiplied by itself 77 times, or 1 followed by 77 zeros. Sadly, that is 1.25×10^67 times more people than there are currently on earth. But, let's just say we were able to accomplish our goal of creating an 800dB cloud. If that happened, we would all instantly die, the earth would be destroyed, and possibly the entire universe. Remember, decibels are logarithmic, and every time you add 10dB you double the loudness. 120dB will damage your hearing, 150dB will instantly rupture your eardrums, 200dB will kill you, and 300dB will kill everyone. As for what 800dB would do, I can only imagine.
