And don't even have a clue
Bright eyes stay tucked away
Deep inside your golden age safety suit
Your golden age safety suit of youth
A little rule, a little sway
To navigate though your maze
We bond and break
Though love and pain,
We bond and break
So rain down on my head (My head, my head)
When the sky cracks open (Sky cracks open)
And your pain comes
Let the flood run though my lungs
When the rain comes
I'll bleed the sun, (The sun)
When the rain comes
So now I see you're free from me
I wait patiently for you to breathe
So rain down on my head (My head, my head)
When the sky cracks open (Sky cracks open)
And your pain comes
Let the flood run though my lungs
When the rain comes
I'll bleed the sun, (The sun)
When the rain comes
The song "Luna" by 10 Years is a melancholic tune about a painful separation or a loss of relationship between two persons. The persona in the song admits to speaking too soon in hopes of getting together with the other person, who they believe to have hung the moon. The other person seems to be unaware of their feelings and is tucked away in their golden age safety suit of youth. The persona acknowledges the difficulty of navigating the other person's maze of love and pain, saying that they bond and break through them. The chorus talks about being there for the other person, being a safe place for them to spill their pain and cry when they need it.
The second verse of the song sees the persona realizing that the other person has moved on and accepting that they are now free from them. They choose to wait patiently for the other person to find their own peace and breathe easy. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the willingness of the persona to take in the other person's pain like a flood and to let them bleed the sun by providing comfort and a safe space.
Overall, "Luna" is a beautiful and introspective piece that speaks of the pain of separation and the need for comfort and safety in times of heartache.

The soft drums and metronome of all the instruments together get me a major vibe of back in 2007-2008. When my friends and I would play split-screen Left 4 Dead multiplayer and Halo 3 multiplayer. When it'd be raining outside and my friend would have a bunch of Nine Inch Nails songs on his Xbox, one in which was played a lot was "Zero Sum". That sort of vibe of this whole piece of lyric, beat, and strum is what brings me back to that time.
Wonderful and calming.
