Sekt zum Frühstück
200 Sachen Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Eis baby
The song "Sekt zum Frühstück" by 200 Sachen talks about the aftermath of a wild night out and how the singer is dealing with the consequences the next morning. It starts off with him describing how his head is pounding and his stomach is in turmoil. He also mentions how he and his body are fighting each other. The singer then looks for the radio to find some music to help him feel better, but he doesn't want it too loud. He becomes aware of his heartbeat and spreads out to relax.
The refrain of the song talks about how the singer needs some champagne for breakfast, but he wants it on the rocks. He jokingly suggests that it's so strong that it'll even make a cat hot. The second verse of the song has the singer waking up late, realizing he has a long commute to work, but no money for petrol. He's also running late, and his boss calls him to ask where he is. The refrain repeats itself, and in the final verse, the singer talks about how he's finally starting to wake up and how he's done with worrying about last night. He takes to the streets and imagines himself on a beach.
Overall, the song is about someone who has had a wild night out and is dealing with the consequences the next day. The refrain's lyrics also suggest that such a night can benefit from a little bit of champagne, even for breakfast. The singer talks about how he's adjusting to his body's response and how he's trying to recover from a wild night.

I'm not german either, but I understand enough of it to love the lyrics to this song. This should totally be on american radio.

Describes me perfectly.

Thanks for the translation. Didn't realize that Germans can have fun too.

She is saying "Heiß heiß baby", which translated is like "Hot Hot Baby", BUT yes, I believe it is direct play with words with that infamous line.
