When there are people crying in the streets.
Referring to people who are in distress and in visible distress while being out in public.

When they're starving for a meal to eat.
People who do not have access to basic necessities such as food.

When they simply need a place to make their beds.
People who do not have a stable shelter or a roof over their head.

Right here underneath my wing, you can rest your head.
Offering a place of protection, shelter, and comfort for those in distress.

Hope and pray, that you never need me.
While hoping and praying for the best, prepare for the worst.

But rest assured I will not let you down.
Even though you may not need assistance, be confident that the helpers are always available and reliable.

I walk beside you, but you may not see me.
The helpers may walk alongside individuals in need, but discretely and without drawing attention to themselves.

The strongest among you may not wear a crown.
Those who are the bravest and most courageous amongst us may not be celebrated or recognized for their efforts.

Similar to earlier line where the helpers are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to assist, here it refers to the day where they are called on to serve.

On that day when you don't have strength for the burden you bear.
During times when the weight on someone's mind or heart becomes unbearable, the helpers are available to provide support.

An assurance that the helpers are always prepared, willing, and available to offer their support.
