Jackson was born and raised in South Jamaica, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. His mother Sabrina, a drug dealer, died in a fire when he was 8. Since his father had already abandoned the family, young Curtis was sent to live with his grandparents. Growing up during the crack epidemic of the 80s and 90s, Jackson dealt drugs when he wasn't "killing time" at school or boxing at a local gym. His grandparents assumed he was at after-school programs when he was out selling crack. In tenth grade, Jackson was caught with guns and drug money passing through the metal detectors at Andrew Jackson High School in Queens. In 1994, Jackson was arrested again for selling vials of cocaine to an undercover officer, and three weeks later he was arrested yet-again after police found heroin, crack cocaine, and a starter pistol in his home. Jackson was sentenced to 3 to 9 years in prison, but opted to join a 6 month boot camp program and get his GED. Around this time, Jackson began going by "50 Cent," inspired by deceased Brooklyn stick-up man Kelvin "50 Cent" Martin.
After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, he released his debut album Guess Who's Back Again in 2002. He was discovered by Eminem and Dr. Dre and then signed to Interscope Records. He has since released Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2003), The Massacre (2006), Curtis (2007) and Before I Self Destruct (2009).
50 Cent has engaged in feuds with other rappers including Jay-Z, Ja Rule, The Game, Cam'ron, Fat Joe, and Rick Ross. He has also pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2005, the Iraq War film Home of the Brave in 2006, and Righteous Kill in 2008. 50 Cent is one of the richest hip-hop performers, having a net worth estimated at US $440 million in 2008.
Before 50 Cent ever inked a major deal, he built up a substantial fan base in New York through underground mixtapes. 50 Cent met up with Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC and was signed to his label to write all of Jay’s music. After he’d left JMJ, he signed to Columbia Records in 1996. On this label, he released Power of the Dollar, and the singles How to Rob and Ghetto Qua Ran. Columbia Records released him from the label after being shot on May 24th, 2000.
Around this time, Eminem had heard one of 50 Cent’s demo tapes and expressed a huge interest in him on MTV, as did Dr. Dre. Shortly after this, 50 Cent officially signed to Interscope Records. He was the first rapper to sign to the joint label owned by Dr. Dre and Eminem. The first song he released on this record was entitled Wanksta and was featured on the 8 Mile soundtrack.
In its first week of release, his debut ”Get Rich Or Die Tryin’” sold 872,000 units - easily reaching Gold status. Within the second week it went Platinum (1 mil) and on April 12th, 2004 the RIAA certified it six times Platinum.
In 2005 he followed the success of his album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ with a new release - The Massacre (originally called St. Valentines Day Massacre until the release date was pushed back). The first single released off this, Disco Inferno, was a huge hit - he followed this hit up by the release of Candy Shop and then again with Just a Lil Bit.
In 2003 Interscope Records allowed 50 Cent to have his own label - G-Unit Records. He first signed Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck as the established members of G-Unit Records. In 2004, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent had signed The Game under a joint venture.

I wish I could be here in the morning but I won't
So let's get it in girl
So let's get it in girl
I bet to you it may feel like I'm in a rush
Give it to you how you want it until you've had enough
Bottles of champagne, I'll have us all in this position
We can make tonight the night baby if you just listen
Started out slow, yeah we could get to kissing
'cause all I need is, just a touch of your love
(A little bit)
The spotlight on us ain't bright enough baby
Thinking bout you is driving me crazy
I do what I gotta do to get it
I admit it, the way you move it is making me lose it
Let's get into it
So take my hand don't fight that feelin'
It's alright to roll with me we just chillin'
The wildest dreams is 'bout to leave the building
Don't you wanna roll with me
I wish I had time to get to know you but I don't
I wish I could be here in the morning but I won't
So let's get it in girl
So let's get it in girl
Hey girl I'm picking you like let's go
You gotta be the baddest in the club that's all I know
Tell your friends I see you tomorrow
And tell em that young Lloyd taught you the backstroke
Now wait a minute there's something you must know
I'mma blow it up but in the morning you must go
Come as fine as you are, fine as you are I can't make you my girl
So take my hand don't fight that feelin'
It's alright to roll with me we just chillin'
The wildest dreams is 'bout to leave the building
Don't you wanna roll with me
I wish I had time to get to know you but I don't
I wish I could be here in the morning but I won't
So let's get it in girl
So let's get it in girl
Hey hey I said let's get it in girl
Let's get it in
Let's get it in
Let's get it in
Let's get it in
I wish I had time to get to know you but I don't
I wish I could be here in the morning but I won't
So let's get it in girl
So let's get it in girl
I gotta go baby
So what's up baby, what you tryin'a do
I mean take a chance for once in your life
Yeah, zone 4, young Lloyd, 50 Cent
The lyrics to 50 Cent's song "Let's Get It In" convey a desire for a physical and temporary connection with someone without investing too much emotion or time into a deeper relationship. The singer expresses regret for not having the time to truly get to know the person, but acknowledges that the circumstances only allow for a brief encounter. The repeated phrase "let's get it in" emphasizes the intention for a passionate and intense experience.
The singer acknowledges that their fast-paced approach might give the impression that they are in a hurry. They promise to satisfy their partner's desires until they have had enough, suggesting a willingness to fulfill their needs and indulge in pleasure. The mention of champagne and being in a specific position indicates a luxurious and intimate setting for their encounter. However, the singer recognizes that their behavior might require intervention due to their maturity level as a grown adult.
Despite the temporary nature of their connection, the singer encourages the other person to seize the moment and make this night special. They suggest starting slowly with kissing, implying a desire to build a physical connection gradually. The singer also expresses that a touch of their partner's love is all they need, emphasizing their focus primarily on the physical aspect of the encounter.
The lyrics also reflect the singer's awareness of their public image and the attention they receive. They remark that the spotlight on them is not bright enough, indicating a craving for more intense experiences and connections. The singer confesses that thinking about their partner drives them crazy, suggesting a strong attraction or infatuation.
In the second verse, 50 Cent joins Lloyd in expressing their interest in pursuing the encounter. They refer to the woman as the "baddest in the club," highlighting her attractiveness. However, the singer acknowledges the limitations of their connection, stating that they cannot make her their girl despite their desire to blow her mind. This suggests that the singer is not looking for a long-term commitment or emotional attachment.
Ultimately, the lyrics of "Let's Get It In" convey a desire for a temporary physical connection without emotional commitment or the expectation of a long-lasting relationship. The focus is on living in the moment, indulging in pleasure, and seizing opportunities, even if they are fleeting.
