The lyrics to A-3's song "What It Do Baby" convey the idea that success is not solely determined by the actions one takes, but rather by the approach and attitude they adopt. The repetition of the line "It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it" emphasizes the importance of how one goes about their actions. It suggests that the manner in which something is done can have a significant impact on the outcome.
The lyrics also highlight the significance of timing. The line "It ain't what you do, it's the time that you do it" suggests that knowing when to act is crucial. It implies that strategic timing can lead to favorable results. This may be interpreted as a reminder to be patient and wait for the right moment to take action, as hasty decisions might not yield the desired outcome.
Furthermore, the lyrics emphasize the significance of the environment or context in which one operates. The line "It ain't what you do, it's the place that you do it" suggests that success is influenced by the circumstances and setting in which one carries out their actions. It implies that choosing the appropriate environment or adapting to existing conditions can contribute to achieving desired results.
The lyrics also touch upon the notion of finding balance and avoiding unnecessary exertion. The lines "You can try hard, don't mean a thing. Take it easy, then your jive will swing" suggest that putting in excessive effort does not guarantee success. Instead, the lyrics advocate for a more relaxed and effortless approach, indicating that one's actions can flow more effectively when they find a natural rhythm.
Overall, the song encourages listeners to consider not only their actions but also the way they approach them, the timing of their actions, and the environment in which they take place. It suggests that achieving favorable results requires a thoughtful and strategic approach, rather than simply focusing on the tasks at hand.
