2) AK is a pop/R&B singer born and raised within the suburb of Maplewood, NJ. She began focusing on her singing career at the tender age of 12 after receiving the tragic news that her dad was diagnosed with cancer. Singing and listening to music countless hours of the day helped relieve her from the stress of her father's medical situation. During the last stages of his illness, AK serenaded her father with Mariah Carey's "Butterfly." It was his admiration towards her vocal talent that led her to continue the singing path as a way to help others get through their everyday struggles.
In the 8th grade, AK formed a group, Sweet, and wrote her first song, Just Look. Branching off before high school, she hit the studio to record her first original solo song, Dreamin, at the age of 14. A.K. finally realized how powerful her singing was while attending Columbia High School, alma Mata of Lauryn Hill. While at Columbia High School, she joined the MLK Gospel Choir and was chosen as the lead vocalist although she was the only white member. Despite being one of the few choir members who were not of color, there was never a racial barrier between A.K. and the rest of the choir. While there, she was accepted by everyone despite race, gender, age due to her vocal capability.
Her musical influences are Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin. People have already compared A.K. to a younger version of Christina Aguilera with her powerful voice. A.K. is determined to achieve any goal. She is always up for a challenge and proves that she has true determination. From putting in 12 hours a day in the studio, she proves that hard work pays off. In 2007, A.K. won first place in the R&B genre at "Faces in the Crowd" in New York City.
From singing her heart to the world to expressing herself through her dance moves, A.K. is a well-rounded performer with a true essence of Pop with a strong undeniable R&B sound.

(Hip hip hooray for the elephants on parade)
Take the gist of it and twist it
'Til it makes you smile
And don't be scared if there's a snare
Sometimes it takes a while
There's much to learn from every turn inside a labyrinth
No way to talk about it
And I will ever change and never cease to be amazed
It bubbles up and overflows and then it goes away
I want to hold and nurture every second of this life
That has been given to me
Even the limits in me
Jackrabbit, snake pit runnin' oh
My my, been a long time comin' home
Jackrabbit dying deep down in his soul
Dang-nab-it, you hate me, but hey now
Hip-hip hooray with your baritones on your hip
Hip hooray for the elephants on parade
You're preaching to the chorus
Line alright for this whole time
And I'm fine if I can
Tell a lie about the minor crimes
I won't try to justify the reason why
I think that I'll never die is so preposterous
It's like a bag of circus peanuts in a sewage drain
Or airin' out your dirty laundry on a weather vane
Hip-hip hooray for the elephants on parade
They're gonna trample themselves
They're gonna trample themselves
Jackrabbit, snake pit runnin' oh
My my, been a long time comin' home
Jackrabbit dying deep down in his soul
Dang-nab-it, you hate me, but hey now
Hip-hip hooray with your baritones on your hip
Hip hooray for the elephants on parade
I got the feeling that I wanna be alone with you
And I got the feeling that you
Might want to be alone with me too
Take a finger and snap, just like that
And I had to say hey baby let's go
And make it home for our show
Simple defragmentation gets us to the point of that
But no relaxing 'til they give us all our memory back
TouchΓ©, buvΓ©, hide away with all the take
It's all out of order anyway
They can always make you pay up
And I will ever change and never cease to be amazed
It bubbles up and overflows and then it goes away
I want to hold and nurture every second of this life
That has been given to me
Even the limits in me
Like a bag of circus peanuts in a sewage drain
Or airin' out your dirty laundry on a weather vane
Hip-hip hooray for the elephants on parade
Hip hooray for the elephants on parade
Take the gist of it and twist it 'til it makes you smile
And don't be scared if there's a snare
Sometimes it takes a while
There's much to learn from every turn inside a labyrinth
Don't you try to think about it
Ain't no way to talk about it
And I will ever change and never cease to be amazed
It bubbles up and overflows and then it goes away
I want to hold and nurture every second of this life
That has been given to me, even the limits in me
Jackrabbits, snake pit runnin' oh
My my been a long time coming
Jackrabbits, snake pit running
Hip-hip Hooray for the elephants on parade
The song "Parade" by A.K. is a whimsical and introspective piece that encourages listeners to find joy in life's unpredictable and sometimes chaotic moments. The chorus, "Hip-hip hooray for the elephants on parade," serves as a celebration of the unexpected and strange aspects of life, like elephants parading down the street. It urges listeners to embrace these moments, even if they seem out of place or take time to understand.
Throughout the song, A.K. reflects on the idea of constant change and the amazement that comes with it. The lyrics suggest that there is much to learn from every twist and turn in life's labyrinth, and instead of trying to explain or analyze these experiences, it is better to simply enjoy and appreciate them. The repetition of the line, "I want to hold and nurture every second of this life," reinforces the theme of cherishing all moments, even the ones that seem limiting or challenging.
The verses introduce additional imagery, such as a jackrabbit dying deep down in his soul and the idea of preaching to the chorus. These metaphors add depth to the song's message, highlighting the complexities and contradictions of life. Ultimately, "Parade" encourages listeners to find beauty and delight in the unexpected and to embrace the ever-changing nature of existence.
