Their influences range from rock, to punk, to indie, to metal. Their singles "Miseries and Miracles", βA Walk Aloneβ, βAn Orphan of the Stormβ, and "To Sleep and Dream" are songs that have blasted A Blinding Silence to the forefront of today's unsigned bands. Their songs are currently receiving college radio airplay and are being spun on almost every internet radio station around.
The band has been Buzzplayβs βArtist of the Monthβ twice and has been ranked as high as #2 on Purevolume's βUnsigned Artist Chartβ (in the Alternative, Screamo, and Post Hardcore genres).
In 2006 an investor and his movie crew set out to make a film about βthe battle a band goes through, the circumstances, and the temptations that are sometimes thrown in our paths to defeat us.β They were looking to cast βa band that was truly talented and in the midst of working, sweating, and bleeding for their art.β They felt that the boys had the music and the faith to carry the film. The entire band was cast in the lead roles and in February of 2006, A Blinding Silence finished filming their movie debut in the indie film βSilent Criesβ.
In addition to the film, the band was approached by Hollywood Director Josh Martin and 24 Bros. Production. Shortly after the movie wrapped, they filmed and completed the major motion video to their hit single βMiseries and Miraclesβ.
Because of their wide appeal, A Blinding Silence is gaining fans and supporters on a worldwide level. They simply write songs and lyrics that people fall in love with. They are also in possession of one of the most amazing live shows around.
Though often compared to breakout artists like Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed and Cambria, The Used, and old Finch, there's no band that quite sounds like A Blinding Silence.

A Walk Alone
A Blinding Silence Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And moments when they define
What broken hearts can't deny.
And to hope
Sincerest in it's design
Yet manifested to blind
And my eyes, they can't always see the lie
And what more do you want from me
I've given every part of me.
The closest things are hard to see.
Here's to spite
Vindictive in it's design
The shallowest part of mind
Cheers to love
The ocean that does divide
But sometimes it's hard to find
And what more do you want from me
I've given everything you see.
The closest things are hard to see
And my eyes,
They can't always see the light
Yeah sometimes it's hard to find
And my eyes,
They can't always read your mind
Yeah sometimes it hard to fight
In my head I kill the lie, I kill the lie
In my head I kill the lie, I kill the lie and walk alone
And my eyes, they can't always see the lie
Yeah, sometimes it's hard to find.
The lyrics of A Blinding Silence's song "A Walk Alone" reveal a sentiment of resignation and acceptance despite the struggle that comes when navigating broken relationships. The song is a tribute to life, hope and love, albeit tempered by the realities of lost opportunities and emotional blindness. The opening verse ("Cheers to life...") acknowledges those moments when life brings joy and insight despite the pain of past experiences, and hope is still a sincere emotion despite its potential to blind one to truth. However, even in these moments of clarity, the singer acknowledges that they can't always see the lie. The chorus ("And what more do you want from me...") expresses the feeling of defeat that comes when one has given everything, yet still expected to give beyond their capacity. The closest things (i.e., relationships) are hard to see, concealed by personal biases or hidden agendas.
The second verse ("Here's to spite...") takes a darker turn, as the singer acknowledges the role played by negative emotions like spite, vindictiveness, and shallowness in love and relationships. However, despite the ocean of distance that sometimes divides people, the chorus once again highlights the difficulty of truly seeing or understanding the intentions of others. The lines "And my eyes, they can't always see the light/Yeah sometimes it's hard to find/And my eyes, they can't always read your mind/Yeah sometimes it's hard to fight" convey the sense of vulnerability and helplessness that comes when one is unable to discern truth from deception. The final lines of the song ("In my head I kill the lie, I kill the lie/In my head I kill the lie, I kill the lie and walk alone") reinforces the theme of isolation and self-reliance. The only way to combat the pain and confusion that come from failed relationships is to face them head-on and move forward with a clear mind, even if it means walking alone.
