The two became good friends after meeting in a local music store back in 2003 in their hometown of Newberry, SC. With a mutual admiration for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and a slew of other classic rock records, it wasn't before long the first semblance of what is now A Thousand Horses started taking shape. Having cut their teeth in the southern rock club circuit, Michael and Bill never let an empty room slow them down. This is a band founded upon the collective love of the creative process. "Mission statements are for high schools and politicians - we're a rock n roll band" explained Michael when asked about his goals for A Thousand Horses.
Fast forward to 2010 - After several lineup changes over the years, Michael and Bill have rounded out the band with Bill's cousin Graham DeLoach (22) on bass, Zach Brown (24) on guitar and Shane Lenzen (24) on drums.
With the August 17, 2010 release of their debut, self-titled EP on DGC/Interscope/Van Howes Records, A Thousand Horses are positioned at the starting gate for a busy second half of 2010 and beyond.
Frontman Michael Hobby (23) and lead guitarist Bill Satcher (22), the co-founders and creative co-conspirators of A Thousand Horses, have been crafting Americana infused Rock n' Roll anthems in the southeastern US for over half a decade together.

Back To Me
A Thousand Horses Lyrics

Just a small town girl
They see corn row world
Just a small town girl
Dreams
I know you've got your dreams
But you're not here with me
One way town with no way out
It's holding you in
And it's holding you down
But I'll be the one who will set your heart free
If you come back to me
Boy
Just a rebel boy
Raisin' hell makin' noise
Just a rebel boy
Scars
I know I've left some scars
But we've come to far to stop
'Cause a couple of scars
One way town with no way out
It's holding you in and it's holding you down
But I'll be the one who will set your heart free
If you come back to me
Oh oh oh oh
If you come back to me
Oh oh oh oh
If you come back
One way town with no way out
It's holding you in and it's holding you down
But I'll be the one who will set your heart free
If you come back to me
Oh, If you come back to me
Girl
Just a small town girl
I'm just a rebel boy
In love with a small town girl
The lyrics of A Thousand Horses' song Back to Me tell the story of two lovers who live in a small town. The girl is ambitious and dreams of leaving their town and pursuing her goals, while the boy is a rebel who has left some scars in the past but is still in love with the girl. They both feel trapped in their town and their situations, but the boy promises to set her heart free if she comes back to him. The repetition of the lines "One way town with no way out, it's holding you in and it's holding you down" emphasizes their feelings of being stuck and unable to move forward.
The song captures the conflicting emotions of love and dreams, which often do not align. The girl's dreams are pulling her away from the boy and their town, while the boy's love for her is keeping him there. It also speaks to the idea that no matter how ambitious someone is, they still long for a sense of home and belonging.
Overall, Back to Me is an emotional and relatable song that tells a story of love, dreams, and the struggles of living in a small town.
