Absurd Mind… Read Full Bio ↴"(AbsuЯd) Minds" is a futurepop music band from Germany.
Absurd Minds was formed in 1995 by Stefan Großmann (voice, composing) and Tilo Ladwig (composing, programming, sampling). Musically they were inspired by the EBM of the early 1990s.
Between 1995 and 1999, Absurd Minds released three CD-rs in limited quantities, laying the groundwork for further developments by the band. After a long creative phase their first concert took place at the Dresden club, "Bunker". As a result of this the band came into contact with "Music Cooperation" who subsequently became their management. A recording contract with the label Scanner followed in December 1999. In the meantime, Absurd Minds played in "Electromania II" in Leipzig. The recording for their first single, "Brainwash", and album, "Deception", began in January 2000.
In March, the band played live at the "Nostromo Festival" in Görlitz and opened for the "Electromania III" festival which was part of the "Wave-Gotik-Treffen" 2000. In December their second single, "Come Alive" appeared and in January 2001 they began recording the album "Damn the Lie". During this period the band took on a third member, Timo Fischer, who till then had only played as reinforcement during live performances.
Their third album "The Focus" followed in October 2003, with the singles "Master Builder" and "Herzlos" both doing well in the DAC. Another appearance at the "Wave-Gotik-Treffen" followed in 2004, whilst the fourth Absurd Minds album "Noumenon" was released in November 2005.
Currently, the most recent release from Absurd Minds is the EP "The Cycle" which was released in 2007. According to the bands' website a new album, "Serve or Suffer", is scheduled for 2010.

Absurd Minds Lyrics

There is no dream without it
It doesn't exist without the dream
In which it acts as if it were a person to be seen and be believed
Born into the world outside, it lives a little while and dies
Losing the form, cause it's worn
Flesh decomposes. It won't believe there was a time
When it knew nothing of itself
The dreaming of the world takes many forms
Because the body seeks in many ways to prove, it is real
The searching for the truth takes many forms
Because the body feels in many ways this world is not real
Find yourself. The dream has but on purpose, taught in many ways
But the son of God remembered not to laugh
He thinks he is the dream and not the dreamer
Pain demonstrates it must be real
It is a loud, sepulchral voice compelling your attention
Its purpose is the same as pleasure, cause they both are means
To make the body real, it's a law, that you can feel
The lyrics of Absurd Minds's song "Body" delve into the philosophical concept of the human body and its existence in the world of dreams. The song describes the body as the central figure in the dreaming of the world, as there can be no dream without it. However, the body's existence is dependent on the dream in which it acts as if it were a person to be seen and believed. The song also highlights the inevitable mortality of the human body, as it is born into the world outside, lives for a little while, and eventually dies.
The song further explores the different ways in which the body seeks to prove its reality in the world. Pain and pleasure are represented as means to make the body real, as both have the same purpose. The search for truth is also described as taking many forms as the body feels that the world is not real. Ultimately, the lyrics conclude with a thought-provoking message that the son of God should remember not to laugh, as he thinks he is the dream and not the dreamer.
