He was my heart-throb in the 60s. On my 13th birthday in 1960 I saw him in Dick Whittington at the Wimbldon Theatre. He called me up onto the stage to sing Lonely Pup and gave me a poodle toy which I still have and I'm now 75.

I AGREE FULLY.WENT TO DERBYSHIRE ONE DAY IN THE 70s BY CAR WITH MAM,DAD AND THEIR FRIENDS HARRY AND CATHERINE.STOPPED FOR A PICK-NICK AND I HEARD THIS TUNE ROLLING ROUND THE HILLS IN MY HEAD WITH THOUGHTS OF THE LOCAL MINERS WELFARE THAT NIGHT.WHAT A GOOD DAY THAT WAS.
