Overall Meaning

In African China's song Africa, the artist discusses the struggles and hardships that many people face in Africa. He begins by mentioning that there is a lack of food, which is a major issue in many African countries due to issues such as poverty, drought, and war. He then goes on to mention that although there is water available, it is only accessible to a select few, such as his brother, emphasizing the inequality that exists in African society. The poor road conditions also make it difficult for people to travel and access essential resources.

Despite these challenges, African China points out that there are also some positive aspects of life in Africa, such as having access to electricity. However, this access does not necessarily translate to a good quality of life since fuel is expensive and can be difficult to obtain, which in turn makes survival challenging for many people. He mentions that many young people are willing and able to work, but the lack of transportation makes it difficult for them to find employment.

African China also touches on the issue of visa restrictions that make it difficult for people to move freely within Africa. He acknowledges that Africa is full of potential and that the people are capable of great things, but that they are often held back by external factors such as bureaucracy and restrictions on movement.
