After School Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Baby Baby Baby
I\'m waiting for you
Baby Baby Baby
I\'m waiting for you
Baby Baby Baby
I\'m waiting for you
The lyrics of After School's song "시간에 기대어" depict the longing and heartache of someone who is waiting for a significant other to reach out and connect with them. The singer wonders about the well-being of the person they are missing, expressing that thoughts of them have been consuming their mind lately. Memories of the past relationship flood back, pulling the singer into a state of yearning and nostalgia. Even the simplest messages catch them off guard, emphasizing how much they are still holding on to the hope of reconnecting with their loved one.
Despite the pain in their heart and the loneliness of their waiting, the singer questions if the other person is doing well and if they have moved on and forgotten about them. They struggle to understand how easily the other person seems to have let go and erased the shared moments they once cherished. The passage of time has blurred the memories of the moments spent together, leaving the singer feeling lost and abandoned in their unreciprocated longing for the other person.
The lyrics highlight the bittersweet emotions of reminiscing about the past with someone who is no longer present in their life. The singer laments the fading memories and the distance that has grown between them and their former love. Walking down the streets they once shared with their partner, they feel the cold wind and yearn for the warmth that the other person brought into their life. The impossibility of turning back time to those happier moments weighs heavily on the singer, making them question the unpredictability of their endless waiting and the inevitability of drifting further apart.
In conclusion, "시간에 기대어" conveys a sense of longing, heartbreak, and unanswered questions that come with waiting for someone who may have moved on. The lyrics express the pain of unreciprocated love, the struggle to let go of cherished memories, and the uncertainty of what the future holds for the singer and their lost love. Despite the feelings of sadness and loneliness, the singer continues to wait, clinging to the hope of reconnecting with the person they miss. The poignant storytelling and emotional depth of the song capture the universal experience of yearning for a lost connection and the lingering ache of unresolved emotions.
