Agonizer Lyrics

is another thing if you're sick as me
but I'm not sick like they can be
But I saw them
making evil twisted things with the evidence
I swear they ate them
Oh but I did wrong that day
You could have believed in me
Even if I'm crazy as can be
in the world of fools
Wisdom is insanity
Please release me
before they come and get me
Take me away and study me
I have to make these things
so they don't know me
They'll never catch me alive.
In Agonizer's song "Fool," the lyrics delve into the mindset of a troubled individual who sees themselves as different from others. The opening lines, "Making murder is another thing if you're sick as me, but I'm not sick like they can be," suggest that the singer acknowledges the existence of darkness within them, but considers themselves separate from those who could commit heinous acts.
The next line, "But I saw them making evil twisted things with the evidence, I swear they ate them," paints a vivid and disturbing image of others engaging in sinister activities, possibly referring to immoral actions or manipulation of facts. The line may symbolize the singer's perception of the world as dark and corrupted.
Continuing, the lyrics express a sense of guilt and regret: "Oh but I did wrong that day, I could be wrong again today." Here, the singer reflects on a past mistake, acknowledging their fallibility and the potential for repeating it. It suggests a fear of not being able to escape from their own flawed nature.
The chorus, "You could have believed in me, even if I'm crazy as can be, in the world of fools, wisdom is insanity," touches on the longing for acceptance and understanding. The singer yearns for someone to see past their perceived madness and appreciate them for who they are. They confront the idea that in a world filled with ignorant and misguided people, their unconventional wisdom might be considered madness.
The final verse, "Please release me before they come and get me, take me away and study me, I have to make these things so they don't know me, they'll never catch me alive," unveils the singer's desire to escape society's judgment and scrutiny. They plea for liberation before being captured, expressing a need to continue their unconventional pursuits in seclusion to protect their identity.
In summary, Agonizer's "Fool" portrays a character who recognizes their own darkness but believes themselves different from those who commit heinous acts. They witness disturbing behavior from others and carry guilt and fear of repeating mistakes. The lyrics also articulate the singer's longing for acceptance, addressing the idea that their peculiar wisdom is often misunderstood as insanity. Ultimately, they yearn for release from societal judgment and the pursuits they cannot abandon.
