This piece is fantastically hard to play at such even tempo and smoothness simultaneously. (I could easily challenge anyone to find another performance on youtube that is even remotely close to this.) Li Jie has been such an inspiration! I moved from acoustic guitar onto solely classical guitar partly because of watching this lady play. She must have been through hard and rigorous training for years to become such a virtuoso at that age! If I am not mistaken she's ~40 years old now and teaches at the national music conservatory of China. I wish we could see more of her recent performances. But none can be found on youtube. Only those few old videos are floating around. I hope she's doing well!

well yes I started to learn koyunbaba because of Li but that time it was new , i did not went to musican road so paused guitar playing for 10 years, but still tike to time i learned few songs . I decided last September that i will learn some harder barrios piece this was one of them, and still not perfect it is a great starting excersize for a practse session. It is great when you realise the pain start now 2 measures later etc etc there is one really challenging part after a barre you need to do afc#h that where the pain now begin in the left pain XD What I can tell i watched a lot of performance there were few noticeable names, but this piece not popular between guitarists because it is not rewarding , need more practice than catedral and not sounds that well, but i am pretty sure it will improve a lot left hand stability and muscle XD But it kinda rewarding for me being capable to play, I personally prefer slower tempo, for better accenting/control however that means more left hand problem… Anyway I really like this lady and this is sad we left with 144 p video and low audio quality, but maybe it is part of the “magic” :)

You see a lot of young people playing difficult stuff and it's impressive and all, but this girl is playing music! Notice how she effortlessly brings the melody out and makes the whole thing sound relaxed. Not easy.
