Lost In Love
Air Supply(에어 서플라이) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I realize the best part of love is the thinnest slice
And it don't count for much
But I'm not letting go
I believe there's still much to believe in

So lift your eyes if you feel you can
Reach for a star and I'll show you a plan
I figured it out
What I needed was someone to show me

You know you can't fool me
I've been loving you too long
It started so easy
You want to carry on

Lost in love and I don't know much
Was I thinking aloud and fell out of touch?
But I'm back on my feet and eager to be what you wanted

So lift your eyes if you feel you can
Reach for a star and I'll show you a plan
I figured it out
What I needed was someone to show me

You know you can't fool me
I've been loving you too long
It started so easy
You want to carry on

Lost in love and I don't know much
Was I thinking aloud and fell out of touch?
But I'm back on my feet and eager to be what you wanted

You know you can't fool me
I've been loving you too long
It started so easy
You want to carry on

Lost in love and I don't know much
Was I thinking aloud and fell out of touch?
But I'm back on my feet and eager to be what you wanted

Now I'm lost, lost in love, lost in love, lost in love
Now I'm lost, lost in love, lost in love, lost in love

Lost in love, lost in love, lost in love
Lost in love, lost in love, lost in love

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Air Supply's song "Lost in Love" speak of the complexity of love and its ability to keep us grounded while also making us feel like we're soaring up in the skies. The first verse drives home the point that the best part of love is the thinnest slice, meaning that it's a fleeting feeling that may not last long. Despite knowing this, the singer is not willing to let go of love because they still believe that there's much more to it than the fleeting moments.

In the chorus, the singer talks about being lost in love and not knowing much. They ask themselves if they were thinking aloud and fell out of touch. However, they pick themselves up and are eager to become what their partner wants. The second verse is a call to action for both partners to reach for their dreams and aspirations, with the hope of achieving them together.

Overall, the lyrics of the song are about the challenges of love and the determination that's required to make it work. The singer acknowledges that love is a complex emotion, but they're willing to put in the work to make it last.

I got to see Air Supply live in concert about 17 years ago at a small venue at a state fair. The crowd was very small, but the guys came on stage with all the confidence as if they were playing the Hollywood bowl at the height of their fame. They gave their whole heart and soul to the performance for a grateful few. I loved them as a kid but didn’t get to see them until I was in my 20s and it was so fantastic and underrated.
