Alain Johannes Lyrics

are mine
Mine
Do I see their design
Implied
I'll let em carry me
Far away on the desert wind
Will I find that I'm truly free
All of these haunted days
belie
Holding em tight as they wane
Why?
I turn and walk away
And I follow the desert wind
And if I lose myself
Do I find that I'm truly free
I turn and walk away
And I follow the desert wind
So I lose myself
As I find that I'm truly free
The lyrics to Alain Johannes' song Free seem to be exploring the idea of finding freedom by letting go of the past and embracing the unknown future. The singer reflects on his personal journey and the pieces of himself that he has accumulated along the way. He questions whether he truly understands their significance and if there is a purpose behind their existence. He contemplates the possibility of relinquishing control and allowing the desert wind to carry him away, ultimately leading him to a place of true liberation.
Johannes uses imagery of the desert wind to symbolize a force that is beyond human control. This imagery suggests that despite our attempts to hold on to the past, ultimately, we can only truly be free when we let go and embrace the unknown. The song's chorus reiterates this idea, as the singer questions whether losing himself in the unknown will lead him to a newfound freedom.
The song's bridge suggests that the process of letting go may be challenging, as the singer acknowledges the haunted days that he has experienced. However, he ultimately makes the decision to follow the desert wind and lose himself in the journey, ultimately discovering true freedom.
