The album also features most of his popular songs including "Sing Me To Sleep" with Iselin Solheim, "Alone" with uncredited vocals from Noonie Bao, "Darkside" with Au/Ra and Tomine Harket and more. I'm pretty sure I recognize you
There is somethin' in your eyes
Won't let you get away tonight
You leave me in the dark
I'm stumblin' around like I'm a question mark
Wonderin' if you're around to catch me if I fall
If I come crashin' to the wall
Will you light me up, jumpstart my heart?
I need someone before the sun goes down
Who's gonna save me now?
Some kind of hero
I can't breathe
Hopin' you're here to rescue me
Before the sun goes down
Who's gonna save me now?
Some kind of hero
Been here before, it's in my muscle memory
I'm pretty sure I've felt this energy
There's somethin' in your touch
Somethin' reminded me of us
Will you light me up, jumpstart my heart?
I need someone before the sun goes down
Who's gonna save me now?
Some kind of hero
I can't breathe
Hopin' you're here to rescue me
Before the sun goes down
Who's gonna save me now?
Some kind of hero
Some kind of hero
Da, da-da, da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da
The lyrics of "Hero" by Alan Walker, Sasha Alex Sloan explore themes of familiarity, longing, and the need for someone to save them. The singer expresses a sense of familiarity and recognition towards the person they're addressing, indicating that they have been in this situation before and it's deeply ingrained in their memory. They feel a strong connection with this person, possibly through their eyes or touch, which reminds them of a past romantic relationship.
The reference to being left in the dark and stumbling around like a question mark suggests a state of confusion and vulnerability. The singer wonders if this person will be there to catch them if they fall or crash into a metaphorical wall, indicating a need for support and protection. They long for someone to light up their life and jumpstart their heart, saving them from their current state of darkness and uncertainty.
The repetition of the question "Who's gonna save me now?" emphasizes the singer's desperate plea for assistance and their hope that this person can be their hero. The repeated mention of a "hero" signifies the need for someone strong and capable to rescue them from their struggles and provide them with a sense of security.
Overall, "Hero" tells a story of longing for connection, familiarity, and salvation. It explores the desire for someone to come into their life and be their hero, providing light and saving them from their dark and vulnerable state.
