Born Alfredo Sánchez Luna in Caracas, Venezuela, Sadel was affectionately called "The Favorite Tenor of Venezuela". He adopted his stage name by combining the last syllable of his surname with the last syllable of the surname of his favorite idol, tango singer Carlos Gardel. According to musician Aldemaro Romero, Sadel became Venezuela's heart-throb due to his huge popularity with the feminine audience. Being in the peak of his popularity he was shown to the doors of Hollywood, but convinced of his conditions for the bel canto, he went to Europe to cultivate his spirit through the serious music, studying in important conservatories, to devote himself to the opera and zarzuela genres.
The means meanness certain and his political affinity carried difficulties to him in his country. Nevertheless, he was acclaimed. He made films in Cuba and Mexico next to Graciela Naranjo and Amador Bendayán, among other important Venezuelan artists.
Sadel died in Caracas, Venezuela, at age of 59.
El Dia Que Me Quieras

El suave murmullo de tu suspirar
Como ríe la vida
Si tus ojos negros me quieren mirar
Y si es mío el amparo
De tu risa leve
Que es como un cantar
Ella quieta mi herida
El día que me quieras
La rosa que engalana
Se vestirá de fiesta
Con su mejor color
Y al viento las campanas
Dirán que ya eres mía
Y locas las fontanas
Se contaran su amor
La noche que me quieras
Desde el azul del cielo
Las estrellas celosas
Nos miraran pasar
Y un rayo misterioso
Hará nido en tu pelo
Luciérnaga curiosa
Que vera que eres mi consuelo
El día que me quieras
No habrá mas que armonía
Será clara la aurora
Y alegre el manantial
Traerá quieta la brisa
Rumor de melodías
Y nos darán las fuentes
Su canto de cristal
El día que me quieras
Endulzara sus cuerdas
El pájaro cantor
Florecerá la vida
No existirá el dolor
La noche que me quieras
Qué Me Importa by Alfredo Sadel is a romantic song that expresses the deep and intense love the singer feels towards his beloved. The lyrics describe the dreamy scenario of the singer's love, his longing for her and how he feels when she is by his side. The opening line, "acaricia mi sueño" (caress my dream), sets the tone for the entire song. The singer yearns for the soft murmur of his beloved's sighs and the way life seems to laugh when she looks at him with her black eyes. Her laugh is like a song, and it soothes his pain, making him forget everything else. The lines "todo, todo se olvida" (everything, everything is forgotten) emphasize the power of the love shared between the two and how it overcomes all troubles.
The chorus, which begins with "el día que me quieras" (the day you love me), describes the transformation the world will undergo once his beloved reciprocates his love. The rose will dress in all its glory, and the ringing of the bells will announce that she is his. There will be a mysterious ray of light on her hair, and the stars in the sky will watch them pass by, jealous of their love. The Second verse “la noche que me quieras” (the night you love me) illustrates the power of love to awaken nature and bring joy and harmony into life. The singer declares that his beloved's love would sweeten the guitar strings, and flowers will bloom everywhere. It will be a night of celebration, and all pain and sorrow will vanish.
In conclusion, Qué Me Importa is a poetic tribute to love that captures the passionate longing and joy associated with being in love. It paints a picture of a perfect love that transforms everything and brings harmony and joy to the world around them.
