Lens has toured extensively across Europe and North America, including a 2017 appearance at LaPlage de Glazart in Paris, and at the 2018 Awakenings festival in the Netherlands.
She often plays live using a Pioneer effects box, which she uses "to add layers to the mix. It has a built-in sampler and personalised effects that can entirely reform the track that is playing. Like everything, its use is situational. Sometimes I hardly touch it, but when I play a peak-time set it truly shines. I specifically look for and buy tracks that will work well with the device. Very stripped-down or minimalistic percussion locked grooves." When recording, she mostly uses Ableton Live music sequencer and digital audio workstation, as well as the Elektron Analog Four synth and sequencer.

The repetitive nature of the lyrics in Amelie Lens's song "Drift" serves to emphasize a sense of perseverance and determination. The repeated phrase "As long as I can" suggests a steadfast commitment to continue moving forward, regardless of challenges or obstacles. This repetition creates a hypnotic effect, reinforcing the idea of pushing through adversity with unwavering resolve and resilience.
The word "drift" is a powerful motif in the song, appearing multiple times in quick succession. This repetition symbolizes a state of constant motion or transition, perhaps reflecting a desire to keep evolving and progressing. The insistent repetition of "drift" could also evoke a feeling of surrendering to the flow of life, letting go of control and allowing oneself to be carried along by the currents of fate and destiny.
The lone mention of "I can" amidst the repetition of "drift" suggests a sense of self-assurance and empowerment. It serves as a declaration of agency and capability, affirming the belief in one's ability to navigate through uncertainty and find a way forward. This moment of assertion amidst the repetition of "drift" conveys a message of self-reliance and inner strength.
The closing repetition of "As long as I can" followed by a final affirmation of "I can" encapsulates the song's theme of persistence and endurance. It underscores the idea that as long as one maintains their determination and belief in themselves, they can continue to drift, adapt, and grow in the face of life's unpredictable currents. Overall, through its repetitive structure and powerful lyrical motifs, "Drift" by Amelie Lens conveys a message of steadfastness and self-assurance in the face of uncertainty.
