Grant made her debut in 1977 under the guidance of Myrrh Records, and became the first Christian recording act to have an album be certified platinum. Following her marriage to Gary Chapman in 1982 and a subsequent deal between her record company and A&M Records, a series of successful pop-crossover records consolidated her position as both Christian music's highest-selling act and a formidable force in mainstream music, and according to Billboard magazine she was the most successful Christian recording artist of the 1980s and 1990s.
After giving birth to her fourth child Corinna Grant Gill, Grant returned to her gospel music roots with the 2002 release of Legacy...Hymns & Faith. The album featured a Vince Gill-influenced mix of bluegrass and gospel and marked Grant's 25th anniversary in the music industry. Grant followed this up with the pop release Simple Things in 2003. The album did not see the success of her previous pop efforts, and soon after the album, Amy and Interscope/A&M parted ways.
Grant released a sequel to her hymns collection in 2005 titled Rock of Ages... Hymns & Faith. Despite publicly musing that life would be easier if she weren't working, Grant joined the reality television phenomenon by hosting Three Wishes, a show in which she and a team of helpers make wishes come true for small-town residents. The show debuted on NBC in the fall of 2005, but was cancelled in November after 10 episodes. After Three Wishes was cancelled, Grant won her 6th Grammy Award for Rock of Ages.
In a February, 2006 webchat, Amy stated she believes her "best music is still ahead".
Amy Grant recorded a live cd/dvd album in early 2006 and it was released later in the year.
To date Amy Grant has sold more than 25 million records worldwide and is a 6 time Grammy winning artist.
Breath Of Heaven

Cold and weary, with a babe inside
And I wonder what I've done
Holy Father, you have come
And chosen me now
To carry your son
I am waiting in a silent prayer
In a world as cold as stone,
Must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now
Be with me now
Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Light up my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven
Do you wonder as you watch my face
If a wiser one one should have had my place
But I offer all I am
For the mercy of your plan
Help me be strong
Help me be
Help me
Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Light up my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Light up my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Amy Grant's "Breath of Heaven" is a prayer that is sung by Mary, the mother of Jesus, as she endures the trials and tribulations of her journey to give birth to her son. The lyrics describe Mary's journey as a young and scared mother, with "a babe inside," as she walks through the darkness, both literally and figuratively. She questions her own worthiness of being chosen by God to carry His son and asks for His support and guidance through her fears and uncertainties. Throughout the song, she prays for the Holy Spirit to continuously be present within her, whether it be holding her together or lighting up the darkness around her.
The lyrics of this emotional song provide insight into the struggles and fears that Mary may have experienced during her journey. The beautiful melodies and powerful lyrics combine to create a feeling of peace and serenity, which makes the listener feel the same emotions as Mary. The song's message encourages the listener to have faith, even when things seem bleak, and to trust in God. Grant's beautiful voice and heartfelt delivery of the song make it one of her most memorable performances

@Tina Bollinger even people with strong faith have fear. We're human
Tina Bollinger
@Krista Gerbrandt I don't think she had fears. She had strong enough faith in purity to be chosen of all women, HER!!!! She was chosen for that very reason!!! She fully trusted God and had faith that he had a plan. She was humbled even more. And honored to be the chosen one!!!

@cacvpc Respectfully, but you are crazy if you think that Mary didnt have doubts and fears and questions, being an ordinary mortal who was bringing into the world the Messiah. Just because it wasnt spelled-out in the Bible doesnt mean it wasnt so. What a silly thing to believe. The spirit of this song is covered all over with God, and its too bad that you dont realize it. I hope that some day you do. . .

@Krista Gerbrandt yup she was human and a teenager ! It's those who put her above Christ who would not believe she had fear or etc
