Say What You Want
Andy Bell Lyrics

I guess I could say
I?m done with it, gonna throw it away (I?m living it)
Got to enjoy and do as I please
Just say a prayer and get down on your knees
Give it a rest and walk down the street
You are the best, now I have to agree (I?m living it)
Living my life how I want it to be
Say what you want, just tell me
Do what you feel, just do it
Stay who you are, it?ll be alright
Say what you want, just tell me
Do what you feel, just do it
Stay who you are, it?ll be alright
Hold on to me
?Cause I can?t resist your loving arms
And the thrill of your kiss (I?m living it)
I can?t deny that feeling is strong
So tell me why did I get it so wrong
Give it a rest and walk down the street
You are the best, now I have to agree (I?m living it)
Do waste your time ?cause your time is free
Living your life how you want it to be
Say what you want, just tell me
Do what you feel, just do it
Stay who you are, it?ll be alright
Say what you want, just tell me
Do what you feel, just do it
Stay who you are, it?ll be alright
Say what you want, just tell me
Do what you feel, just do it
Stay who you are, it?ll be alright
Say what you want, just tell me
Do what you feel, just do it
Stay who you are, it?ll be alright
The lyrics of Andy Bell's song "Say What You Want" convey a message of self-empowerment and individuality. The singer of the song acknowledges that they are not perfect by stating "You're no angel, I guess I could say", but they are choosing to live their life as they please and not let anyone else dictate their choices. The chorus advocates for honesty and authenticity, urging the listener to say what they want and do what makes them happy. The line "Stay who you are, it'll be alright" reinforces the idea that individuality should be celebrated.
The second verse introduces a romantic element, with the singer admitting they can't resist the "loving arms" and "thrill of the kiss" of their partner. However, the singer also acknowledges that they have made mistakes in the relationship and questions why things went wrong. The chorus is repeated, emphasizing the importance of honesty and staying true to oneself in all aspects of life.
Overall, the song is a celebration of individuality and a call to action for listeners to be unapologetic in their choices and feelings.
