Keith gets right to the "Soul" of the matter, with powerful, heartfelt, multi-faceted, dynamically expressed vocals. His talent as a guitarist is outstanding, with a range that defies description. He drives the band with amazing intensity.
Justin Piper: Guitar, Vocals
Justin is a guitar genius in his own right, complimenting Keith Denehy's incredible guitar work, in a manner that is simply "meant to be". The two become one as they invoke their "six-string magic". Every song is rich, full and power- packed... It's like they are reading each other's minds.
Josh Roberts: Bass, Vocals
Josh has more chops than your average bass player, and he KNOWS how to use them. Whether he's "thumb-slapping" with a funk that makes you NEED to get up on your feet, pounding a rhythmic back-beat that moves you off your seat, or just laying down that perfect bass part that lets you know that the bottom will NEVER fall out in THIS band's Rock 'n Roll... you will be "Josh-i-fied".
Sean Roberts: Drums, Vocals
Sean has been compared to Jon Bonham and Neil Pert, because he is the epitome of power and skill. But Sean is just being Sean, and his own abilities are astounding. He is as solid a drummer as you will ever find... The "Backbone" of Angry Hill.
Angry Hill has released five CD's selling thousands. The first CD is "The Man In Your Brain", second CD is the self-titled "Angry Hill", third CD is "Insomniacs Awake", fourth CD is "The Rezz" --- all of which have garnished an abundant quantity of praise in critical revue. Their fifth release, "Time to Meet The Stranger" is packed with the same explosive talent and unbridled, pure energy as its predecessors... and The Hill has one more up their sleeve, as they are in production readying the release of their next CD... this time with a"twist".
Angry Hill has teamed up with Real Rock TV's Ian Barrett (esteemed videographer who has done Video shoots with GodSmack & Sevendust among many others) and Studio Metronome (engineer Pete Peloquin at the controls), and have recorded a "LIVE" DVD of the band on July 22, 2006, (sponsored by Shamrock Transportation Systems) to be released in conjunction with a CD recorded at the same venue - both of which will be Mastered soon, with a RELEASE date in the VERY near future! (As if that weren't enough, they are currently in the studio - "The Den" - with owner/engineer Doug Batchelder, recording yet ANOTHER CD, (entitled "FLY"), chock full of NEW ANGRY HILL songs!)
Angry Hill has been played on a variety of national and local radio stations. They have also played with national recording artists such as Godsmack, Sevendust, Filter, Non Point, Reveille, & Ear Shot, just to name a few. Numb
Angry Hill Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Which way will he turn
Cobwebs in his brain
He enters the storm
Is this just a phase?
Caught back a day
Did the blood leave a stain
The anger
Get rid of the rage
To much to tame
Get rid of the pain
To much to give
So numb
Heart, is blackened by hate
Hollow it creates
Numb thoughts separate
One from one
Hurt, inflicted by strength
Emotions that drain
They leak from the face
This sucks
Get rid of the rage
To much to tame
Get rid of the pain
To much to give
So numb
Wait 'till the smoke clears, I'm high
Brain cells that drip bring bloodshot eyes
Can't comprehend
You can't take sides
Contagious it hits
You're so numb
Ged rid if the rage
Get rid of the pain
You're so numb
The lyrics to Angry Hill's song "Numb" are a powerful exploration of the intense emotions that can lead someone to feel overwhelmed and disconnected from their own feelings. From the opening lines, we are presented with a picture of arms being torn and the question of which way the singer will turn. This sense of ambiguity is further emphasized by the description of cobwebs in his brain - the confusion and disorientation that comes with intense emotional turmoil. The repeated refrain of "get rid of the rage, get rid of the pain" highlights the desperation of someone who is struggling to keep their head above water in the midst of powerful emotions.
As the song continues, we see the toll that these emotions have taken on the singer's heart and mind. His thoughts are numb and disconnected from those around him, making him feel isolated and alone. The hurt he is experiencing is inflicted by his own strength - perhaps a reference to how difficult it can be to confront and process intense emotions. The "contagious" nature of these emotions further reinforces the idea that the singer is disconnected from his own feelings - unable to truly connect with those around him.
Ultimately, the song paints a bleak picture of someone who is struggling to cope with the intense emotional pain of anger and hurt. The repeated refrain of "you're so numb" suggests that this emotional disconnection has become a permanent state - one that is difficult, if not impossible, to shake.
