Don't leave
Anna Ternheim Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'll confide in
Casting light like the sun
Times, when I was lost
Never once I lost faith in us
Don′t leave
Don't leave
It's gonna take some time
There′s no end, no finish line
We′ve only just begun
Woken by a fine summer rain
Don't leave
Don′t leave me
Stay, stay
Stay with me again
Don't leave
Don′t leave
Me again
In these lyrics, Anna Ternheim expresses her strong emotions towards someone she deeply cares about. This person is her confidant, someone she trusts and relies on. She compares this person to the sun, casting light on her life and helping her find her way when she is lost. Even during difficult times, she never lost faith in their relationship.
The chorus of the song is a plea for this person not to leave her again. Ternheim acknowledges that repairing their relationship will take time, but she is willing to put in the effort. She says they have only just begun and then describes a beautiful moment of being awakened by a gentle summer rain. The song ends with the repeated plea for the person not to leave again.
In summary, the lyrics of "Don't Leave" show the importance of deep, meaningful relationships and the desire to keep them intact even when things get difficult.
