Such A Lonely Soul
Anna Ternheim Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You'll be hours late when you finally come home
She'll suspect something's wrong
Make sure to erase all your outgoing calls
Why trouble her lonely soul?
She doesn't have to know
Doesn't have to know
Why tell her, it would hurt her so
She's such a lonely soul
Such a lonely soul
She'll be watching you for sure
Afraid to find out what she already knows
And she'll try to stay calm
'Cause you'll be so hard to get to and she's still in love
Why trouble her lonely soul?
She doesn't have to know
Doesn't have to know
Why tell her? It would hurt her so
She's such a lonely soul
Such a lonely soul
The lyrics of Anna Ternheim's song Such a Lonely Soul describe a situation of infidelity and dishonesty within a relationship. The singer seems to be addressing a man who is coming home late and trying to hide his tracks. The woman in the song is suspicious of his behavior but is also described as a "lonely soul." The singer questions why he would want to trouble her further by revealing his infidelity, rather than protecting her from the pain.
The lyrics convey a sense of sadness and detachment in the relationship. The woman is depicted as waiting at home, silently watching and waiting for her partner to return. The man, on the other hand, is focused on hiding his actions and seems to be detached from the emotional impact of his behavior. The refrain of "Why trouble her lonely soul?" suggests a feeling of guilt or remorse, as the singer acknowledges the damage that infidelity and deception can cause.
Overall, the song is a melancholy meditation on the complexities of relationships and the challenges of being true and honest with those we care about. It highlights the importance of communication and transparency in relationships, and the need to be aware of the emotional impact of our actions.
