No I Don't Remember
Anna Ternheim Lyrics

What places we blindly passed, what turns we missed
When things really mattered and we really cared
When simply being was easy, just having you there
I was on a down slide, wasting my days
When I met you I came to such a lovely place
We laughed and cried our way through
And all the seasons, ups and downs
Remind me of how I used to feel
Remind me of who I used to be back when
Nothing could come between us then
That thought would never leave us
'Cause I don't remember, love needles in the hay
The life I knew by heart and lived everyday
The secret codes and signs, you and I, eye to eye
Wake me up, hurt me, you have to
I forgot how to cry
Remind me of how I used to feel
Remind me of who I used to be back when
Nothing could come between us then
That thought would never leave us
So remind me of how I used to feel
Remind me of who I used to be back when
Nothing could come between us then
That thought would never leave us when
Nothing could come between us then
That thought would never leave us
The song "No I Don't Remember" by Anna Ternheim is a nostalgic ballad expressing a longing to remember the past and the feelings associated with it. The song begins with the singer acknowledging that she no longer remembers the details of what brought her and her partner together, the places they visited or the choices they made in the past. However, she vividly recalls the way they felt when they were happy together, before life got complicated. The singer remembers feeling lost and wasting her days until she met her partner, who rejuvenated her and made her feel alive again. They laughed and cried together through all the ups and downs, and nothing could come between them. The singer is asking her partner to remind her of how it felt to be in love with him, to remember who she used to be and to help her recapture the magic of their relationship.
The song is a poignant exploration of memory, the passage of time, and the impermanence of emotions. The singer acknowledges that while she may have forgotten some of the details of her relationship with her partner, the essence of their love remains unchanged. The song evokes a sense of wistful longing and the desire to hold onto a moment in time that has passed. The singer's plea to be reminded of the past in order to feel the same emotions anew makes this a song that is both melancholy and uplifting.
