If you don't know where I come from, better stear clear of my trail
My background and experiences have shaped me in such a way that it would be wise for others to avoid crossing me.

I come from a part of London that is considered rough and outside of the norm.

My grandfather immigrated to this country from Russia by hiding in hay bales.

During times of war, my grandparents found solace in each other's company by dancing to the sounds of air raid sirens.

People in power often exploit and attack those who are vulnerable.

If I was in those shoes, I'd say Soweto's gonna happen here too
If I were in the shoes of those being attacked, I would predict that similar conflicts will arise.

I gotta get a message through, tell everybody the news
I feel a responsibility to share my message and inform others.

And with the winter coming
As times get tougher and the future looks bleaker, this message becomes even more important.

Crossing all the borders through the smoke of war and rain
People have been forced to flee from their homes despite facing danger and obstacles.

The process of immigration and seeking refuge is often complicated and bureaucratic, particularly in times of war.

A coat, a bag, a baby, status - refugee
Refugees are often left with nothing but the clothes on their backs and the possessions they can carry.

These are the people of my family
I have personal connections to those who have been affected by immigration and refugee issues.

Don't anybody know that this city was made of immigrant blood and money
Many cities and countries owe their success and prosperity to the contributions of immigrants.

If I was in those shoes a blackshirt with the playboy blues
If I were in the shoes of someone who was anti-immigration, I would still recognize the importance of this issue.

People from all walks of life and parts of the world can relate to the struggles faced by immigrants and refugees.

But for accidents of disorder that guy could well be me
If circumstances were different, anyone could find themselves in the position of needing to seek refuge or immigrate.

I want everybody to know this, I want everyone to hear
My message is important and needs to be heard by as many people as possible.

Immigration built the nation, you got a bloodclaat standing here
Immigration has played a significant role in the development and success of this country, and I am a living example of that fact.
