Read Full Bio ↴Annie Eve is a British indie folk singer-songwrite from North London.
Delicately and respectfully blending the mystical magic of Bon Iver with the raw sensibilities of the likes of Kurt Cobain and Regina Spektor, Annie Eve pours sugar and bitter spice into her angelic compositions with disturbing ease and sincerity.
Eve’s unusual grasp of language and awkward perspective bleeds into her lyrics and fuels an enchanting and haunting style of music. Deriving her influences from tormented poets to her own experiences, Eve blends her sense of the raw and the irrational to create original and evocative songs.
Feversome
Annie Eve Lyrics

In my head, my post clippings when I get sick
It's what you said
But am I sick? Well, I don't feel
FEVERSOME
Knowing when it gets colder you know I like your skin
ON MY SKIN
Scared of it, tried but they can't connect with you
AND I CAN'T RUN
And you got it out your system
You're alright
This is what obsession does
This is never real
This is what helped me before you made me ill
Anything else
And I cry, you cry when I get home
SO I JUST STAY OUT
And you take me home, take me home
Kiss goodnight
Then you're gone
And restless, restless my soul turns
Hold me on
SCARED OF IT
You're just scared of it
We all are
This is what obsession does
This is never real
This is what helped me before you made me ill
Anything else
In Annie Eve's Feversome, the lyrics describe the feeling of being consumed by a haunting and poisonous relationship. The opening line conveys a sense of desperation and intense emotion, the singer being covered in blood through their eyes, a vivid and visceral image. The reference to "post clippings" can be interpreted as someone trying to piece together a narrative of what's happening, attempting to understand what's going on inside their own head. The chorus repeats the word "Feversome" multiple times, which is a play on words - "feverish" and "awesome". This can be interpreted as both the excitement and the sickness of being in love with someone who you know is bad for you. The line "But am I sick? Well, I don't feel" captures the essence of being in this type of relationship - knowing deep down that it's not good for you, but still being unable to resist.
The lyrics in the second verse focus more on physical intimacy and the struggle of trying to connect with someone who is emotionally unavailable. The line "Knowing when it gets colder you know I like your skin ON MY SKIN" captures the desire for physical, almost animalistic connection, while the next two lines "Scared of it, I know it / Scared of it, tried but they can't connect with you" describe the push-pull dynamic of wanting someone who pushes you away emotionally. The line "And you got it out your system / You're alright" suggests that the other person has moved on, leaving the singer behind to deal with the aftermath of a toxic relationship. The chorus repeats again, emphasizing the sickness and addiction of this kind of love. The final lines "You're just scared of it / We all are" suggest that the fear of being hurt in love is universal, and that everyone experiences this kind of obsession at some point.

I adore the music of Annie. I wish she would give us more. If she never comes back I can see Sunday 91 being spoken about in the future in the same bracket of lost artists alongside Linda Perhacs and Rodriguez. I have no idea where she went or why, I have even less idea why she isn’t enormous. Sunday 91 is simply magnificent.
Annie if you ever read any of these comments : thanks so much for your music. I shall continue to play Kid Meets World for as long as I live.
