She played the role of Jeannie in the movie "Hair" (1979) and can be heard on the soundtrack album singing "Air" - one of the songs from the stage version that doesn't appear in the film.
In 1990, she teamed up with guitarist Frank Carillo, creating the duo of Golden Carillo. They recorded two albums, "Fire In New Town" and "Toxic Emotion" for Silenz Records.
She has appeared in both in films & TV, in a number of character roles - notably as Margaret 'Maggie' O'Keefe (Cliff's girlfriend) in Cheers.
Frank Mills
Annie Golden Lyrics

On September twelfth right here
In front of the Waverly
But unfortunately I lost his address
He was last seen with his friend, a drummer
He resembles George Harrison of The Beatles
But he wears his hair tied in a small bow at the back
I love him but it embarrasses me
He lives in Brooklyn somewhere
And he wears his white crash helmet
He has golden chains on his leather jacket
And on the back are written the names
"Mary" and "Mom" and "Hell's Angels"
I would gratefully appreciate if you see him tell him
I'm in the park with my girlfriend and please
Tell him Angela and I don't want the two dollars back just him
The lyrics of Annie Golden's Frank Mills tell the story of a young woman's search for a boy she fell in love with but lost contact with. The song begins with her reminiscing about meeting a boy named Frank Mills on September 12th in front of the Waverly. Sadly, she lost his address, but she remembers that he was last seen with his drummer friend who resembled George Harrison of The Beatles. She describes Frank Mills' unique hairstyle - tied in a small bow at the back, which adds to his distinctive appearance.
The singer admits that she loves Frank, but she's embarrassed to be seen with him due to his appearance. Frank lives in Brooklyn, and he wears a white crash helmet and golden chains on his leather jacket. The back of his jacket has the names "Mary," "Mom," and "Hell's Angels" written on it, suggesting that he's in a gang. The chorus is a plea for anyone who sees Frank to tell him that she's in the park with her girlfriend and that she wants to see him again. She ends the song by asking that he doesn't bring back the two dollars she lent him, only Frank would be enough.
Overall, the song tells a story of missed connections and lost love, with its protagonist trying to track down a boy who captured her heart. Its catchy melody and relatable lyrics about yearning for someone we've lost touch with have made Frank Mills a beloved song, even outside of its original context.

How adorable. I worked with Annie several times on readings and showcases of plays by my late friend Ed Kelleher back in the 70s. Annie told me that she didn't mind that "Frank Mills" got cut from the HAIR movie so much, but that a reprise of I believe "Easy to be Hard" at a picnic scene before they tried to spring Berger was a really lovely moment. Pity none of the exclusions are on the bare-bones dvd.

Hm, still only two women whose three performances of this secret Hair favorite of mine sound right to me:
- Original Broadway Cast singer (deepest apologies to her for her name escaping my memory, dammit)
- Annie Golden in Forman's Hair
- Annie Golden here in this heartwarming performance. Man, she's conveing so much here, a true old school professional in the best possible sense.
Kudos for the upload !!!!
