The project began as a solo effort by Graham in collaboration with Powell. After deciding that the songs they had written would be better suited for a group, they joined with Grimm and former member Kyle Kupecky and released their first EP as a group under the name Yellow Cavalier. After changing their name to Anthem Lights, the band eventually signed with Reunion Records, and, on May 11, 2011, released their self-titled debut album, including the lead single Can't Shut Up . Just recently, Kupecky announced his departure from the band, as he felt God leading him to work on a solo project. Anthem Lights' newest member, Joey Stamper, has taken his place.

I agree that at first, I was a bit confused with the song. But I see that the song says nothing can hold you back. In spite of what you've experienced before, you can start all over on a new slate. Anthem Lights creates inspiring music with a message. Jesus doesn't have to be explicitly mentioned, He is in everything that we say or do.

There's a difference between inspirational and Christian. There are motivational speakers and then there are Pastors. We should proclaim the name of God bodly. To me, this sounds like a One Direction song. To each his own, I suppose. :)

I love this song, and I love them more than anything but I'm worried they're turning into more of a secular group than a Christian group. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with singing about whatever this is about but I'm not sure it's something that'll make someone turn to find God. Just a little feedback

correct me if I'm wrong, but after like my 5th time listening to it closely, I interpret as someone feeling overwhelmed and needing release and having mistakes in your life, and from a religious stand point, the chorus is about how the past and everything that's happened to you shouldn't hold you back from finding escape and instead of dwelling on the past, looking toward the future and knowing that its okay if you want to escape from your past

I like this from a fun-loving, peppy song standpoint...dislike it from the random secular message. Baby, I can take you there? I can give you anything you want? (I'm paraphrasing, those are not perfectly quoted lyrics) What's....the point? I'm down with the first part of the song that seems to indicate that sometimes we just need to get away-- life is too much and we need a breather. But the rest leaves something to be desired.

***** If you can get all of ^ that out of this song, more power to you, I guess. I can see how you would draw deeper meaning from the "escape" portions of the song but not from the romantic lyrics which I outlined partially. I have since learned that this whole album is filled with songs like this, though, so it makes a bit more sense. I appreciate Anthem Light's fun take on this music vid (had me laughing quite a bit), but I have no interest in this album. I'll wait for the next one and see where they go with that.

it really isn't random even though the camel bit sounds out of place

this section is referencing the expression "the straw that broke the camels back" it means thats he's had enough, hes done. and i dont get the heat-stroke bit at all either lol hope that helps
