Born in Ukraine, the now tri-lingual singer suffered from breathing complications that led to a tracheotomy at an extremely young age, and doctors predicted Anthony would lose all ability to speak, let alone sing. But after a miraculous recovery, he regained the use of his voice and throughout his teens he could be found shuttling between Pennsylvania and New York City, singing whenever and wherever he had the opportunity.

The difference is in seasons 4-6, everyone could actually sing. They sing on a whole other level compared to the contestants on ABC’s Idol, which focuses more on Katy splitting her pants than actual talent.

The sad thing is I think Anthony had a good singing voice but his song choices didn't fit his vocals.
