Metal Thrashing Mad

In a street machine of steel
Gears are jammed in full
I'm the madman at the wheel
Got my foot pinned to the floor
You can feel the engine roar
I got thunder in my hands
Metal thrashing mad, yeah
Driving like a maniac
Can't go any faster
Burning up the road
Headed for disaster
Got my foot pinned to the floor
You can feel the engine roar
Got thunder in my hands
I'm metal thrashing mad
The lyrics of Anthrax's "Metal Thrashing Mad" describe the adrenaline rush of speeding down the road in a powerful car. The singer refers to himself as a "madman at the wheel," demonstrating his reckless abandon and love for danger. The phrase "metal thrashing mad" serves as a literal and metaphorical description of the singer's mindset, referring to both the aggressive sound of heavy metal music and the chaos of his high-speed driving.
The lyrics also suggest a sense of impending doom, as the singer drives "like a maniac" and is "headed for disaster." Despite this, the thrill of the ride seems to outweigh any fear of the consequences. The repeated phrase "got my foot pinned to the floor, you can feel the engine roar" emphasizes the intensity of the experience and the singer's sense of control and power.

If only Anthrax made more Music like this... Vocals = Perfect. Riffs = Amazing. It just works so well... I didn't take much interest in Anthrax after this Album, I didn't a few with Joey, but Neil had the best vocals imo. I'm very picky when it comes to Riffs, Vocals etc...

@Homo Sapiens they were still good on rtl and mop, it yea you’re right they didn’t have the speed or aggression they started out with
Homo Sapiens
@Марко Недељковић same with Metallica..they never had the aggression or speed after killem all

Conversely, I really don't like Neil Turbin's vocals and Joey B. took that band to a level they never would have reached with Neil.

Dude, I remember hearing this on 94 WYSP with IIRC Cynthia Garner? On the Saturday night show where they played this kind of stuff that was too heavy for regular radio, like headbangers ball or whatever it was called. Blew me away so I had to get the album. Yes album. Back in 1983 before CD's were invented (DOH!) when I was in tenth grade. My kids and grandkids think it is too heavy. Oh well.
