Anthrax's lineup has changed numerous times over their career, leaving Ian as the only constant member of the band. The band has had a revolving cast of singers and lead guitarists, including Neil Turbin, John Bush, Dan Spitz and Rob Caggiano. Since 2013, the band has consisted of Ian, drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello, vocalist Joey Belladonna and lead guitarist Jonathan Donais. Ian and Benante (who replaced one-time drummer Greg D'Angelo in 1983) are the only two members to appear on every album, while Bello has been a member of Anthrax since 1984, replacing original bassist Dan Lilker. After two stints in Anthrax, from 1984 to 1992 and again from 2005 to 2007, Belladonna returned to the band in 2010.

Who. What. Where. When. Why.
How many ways can you lie
How many ways can you die
What am I gonna do
I can't look at you
What are you gonna do
You're no hypocrite
I bash my head against your wall everyday
You'd bash your head against a wall anyway
And then you turn around to look to see if I care
But I can't, and I never did
What'd you expect me to give
You never deserved my respect
How many ways can you try
It burns a hole inside your mind
What am I gonna do
I can't look at you
Can't look like you
I'm no hypocrite
What are you gonna do
You love to look at you
Don't have a clue
You're no hypocrite
You've got a hole inside that you have to feed
You've got a hole you'll use to get what you need
And then you turn to look to see if I care
But I can't, and I never did
What'd you expect me to give
You never deserved my respect
How many ways can you try
It burns a hole inside your mind
What am I gonna do
I can't look at you
Can't look like you
I'm no hypocrite
What are you gonna do
You love to look at you
Don't have a clue
You're no hypocrite
It burns a hole inside my mind
It burns a hole inside my mind
You've got that look I want to know
You've got that look, the hy pro glo
It burns a hole inside my mind
It burns a hole inside my mind
Who. what. where. when. why.
How many ways can you lie
How many ways can you try
How many ways can you die
What am I gonna do
I can't look at you
Can't look like you
I'm no hypocrite
What are you gonna do
You love to look at you
Don't have a clue
You're no hypocrite
Anthrax's song Hy Pro Glo speaks to the struggles of dealing with a hypocrite. The song starts with questions: "Who. What. Where. When. Why. How many ways can you lie? How many ways can you die?" The singer is contemplating the options he has when dealing with this person. He cannot continue to look at them because of the deceit they portray. Regardless of how much he bashes his head against their wall, this person will never change.
The chorus of the song repeats the same theme with a slight twist: "What are you gonna do? You love to look at you. Don't have a clue. You're no hypocrite." Here, the singer is pointing out that the hypocrite is so self-absorbed that they do not even realize their actions. The song closes with the line, "You've got that look I want to know. You've got that look, the hy pro glo." The hypocrite has an innate ability to fool everyone they come across, and the singer is no exception.
Overall, the song is a commentary on the struggles of dealing with hypocrites in our lives. It can be challenging to face those who are not genuine, and this song highlights those difficulties.
