Del amar al querer,
Barrera invisible que salto
Como un preso las paredes en sueños
se me pierde la vista en tu cuerpo
Why la encuentro de nuevo entre besos
Del amar al querer,
Bésame why me perderé
Que el amar no es querer.
Una vez intenté escribir al querer
Why de casas, coches why fiestas canté.
Mirándote lo volví a hacer
Why de besos, abrazos why amores canté.
Háblame why me perderé
Del amar al querer,
Bésame why me perderé
Que el amar no es querer.
Puedes querer, pero pisa bien
Que el amar no es querer
Why te puedes perder.
Háblame why me perderé
Del amar al querer,
Bésame why me perderé
Que el amar no es querer.
The lyrics of Antonio Orozco's song "El Amar No Es Querer" (To Love Is Not to Want) are deeply introspective and explore the nuances of romantic feelings. The opening lines speak of a "clemency to a flight" from love to desire, indicating a kind of reluctance to fully surrender to one's feelings. The following lines create an imagery of an "invisible barrier" that the singer is able to "jump over" as if "prison walls in dreams". This could be interpreted as the singer's desire to overcome any external or internal factors that prevent him from fully submitting to the emotion of love.
The following lines express the singer's intense physical attraction to another person, where he "loses sight of his body" but "finds it again among kisses". This could mean that the singer is so entranced by the other person's body that he feels like he is losing his own boundaries. Throughout the song, Orozco explores the distinction between loving and wanting someone, indicating that one can desire something without truly feeling love. The line "you can want, but step carefully, as loving is not wanting, and you can lose yourself" serves as a warning to be careful when pursuing physical attraction or passion, and to be mindful of the complex emotions that come with love.
