In 2013, Architects parted with Century Media, self-releasing the documentary One Hundred Days: The Story of Architects Almost World Tour and joining Epitaph Records. They released their sixth album Lost Forever // Lost Together through the label in 2014, achieving widespread critical acclaim which has lasted since. Soon after the release of their follow-up All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us in 2016, principal guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle died after three years of living with skin cancer. In September 2017, the band released the single "Doomsday"—the last song that he was working on before his death—and announced Josh Middleton of Sylosis as their new lead guitarist. The single is included on their new album Holy Hell, which was released in November 2018 and is their first written without Searle.
All members of the band are vegan, having turned to veganism after watching several documentaries on the subject. They also promote the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, with Carter being one of its British ambassadors.

3) Architects (also ArchitectsKCMO) is also the name used by a Kansas City Soul Rock band who've released 4 albums (Keys To The Building 2005, Revenge 2006, Vice 2007 and The Hard Way 2009). They were formed from the ashes of Hellcat Records (and later Thick Records) Ska/Pop/Rock band The Gadjits. The Architects sound is a mature version of the later Gadjits material, dropping all ska influence for a Springsteen & The Who sounding rock approach. They are currently signed to Skeleton Crew Records.
Dying Is Absolutely Safe

Destined to break like the waves
Existence is so threatening
It takes a fierce grace to crack us open
A moment sat with our sentencing
And the light comes flooding in
Oh, the light comes flooding in
May all the beggars be blessed
Like angels with anhedonia
We're all just doing our best
Repeating, "There's nothing left"
That's why we weed out the wonderers
Maybe there's virtue in emptiness
But I still drown in distress
When the leaves fall in the spring
With the ravens here to stay
And the doves all flying away
Sedation feels so welcoming
In the subtle space, there's an endless ocean
But the devils sing and it's deafening
What a world we're living in
Oh, we're never listening
When the leaves fall in the spring
May all the beggars be blessed
Like angels with anhedonia
We're all just doing our best
Repeating, "There's nothing left"
That's why we weed out the wonderers
Maybe there's virtue in emptiness
But I still drown in distress
When the leaves fall in the spring
I've got a lot to lose
But I won't lie to you
And make believe sincerity
I'm praying for a remedy
Beloved distant blue
One day I'll die for you
And swim in sweet serenity
'Cause death is not my enemy
I've got a lot to lose
But I won't lie to you
And make believe sincerity
I'm praying for a remedy
Beloved distant blue
One day I'll die for you
And swim in sweet serenity
'Cause death is not my enemy
The lyrics of Architects's song "Dying Is Absolutely Safe" explore themes of mortality, existence, and the complexities of life. The opening lines "From the cradle to the grave, Destined to break like the waves, Existence is so threatening," set a contemplative tone on the inevitable cycle of life and the fragility of human existence. The imagery of breaking waves symbolizes the transient nature of life, while highlighting the inherent vulnerabilities we face as we navigate through the journey from birth to death.
The lines "It takes a fierce grace to crack us open, A moment sat with our sentencing, And the light comes flooding in, Oh, the light comes flooding in, When the leaves fall in the spring," suggest that it is through confronting our limitations and vulnerabilities that we can experience moments of clarity and enlightenment. The changing seasons, symbolized by the falling leaves in spring, reflect the cyclical nature of life, where moments of darkness can lead to new beginnings and growth.
The repeated refrain "May all the beggars be blessed, Like angels with anhedonia, We're all just doing our best, Repeating, 'There's nothing left'," conveys a sense of empathy for the struggles and hardships that individuals face in life. The reference to anhedonia, a condition characterized by the inability to experience pleasure, acknowledges the pain and emptiness that can accompany human existence. The idea of weeding out the wonderers suggests a societal tendency to overlook the beauty and wonder of life in the face of struggles and hardships.
The closing verses reflect on the acceptance of mortality and the belief that death is not something to be feared. The lines "I've got a lot to lose, But I won't lie to you, And make believe sincerity, I'm praying for a remedy" express a poignant acknowledgment of the inevitable losses and challenges that come with life. The mention of swimming in sweet serenity and the declaration that death is not the enemy convey a sense of acceptance and peace with the concept of mortality, emphasizing a hopeful outlook on the afterlife and the ultimate release from earthly struggles.

I really want them to close a concert with this.
I want all of us singing together:
Beloved distant blue
One day I'll die for you
And swim in sweet serenity
Cause death is not my enemy
I want to sing this loud. With them. With all of you.

Maybe I'm overthinking, but:
May all the beggars be blessed - (Royal Beggars)
I’ve got a lot to lose - Holy Hell, I’ve got nothing left to lose (Holy Hell)
I’m praying for a remedy - A sickness with no remedy (Gone With the Wind)
Beloved distant blue - That Distant Blue, that's me and you (The Distant Blue)
‘Cause death is not my enemy - Death is an open door (Doomsday) - Death is not defeat
Yeah, I'm overthinking.

This made me shed a tear, I couldn't help it. These guys are true artists and I'm forever grateful for their music that helped me and many others to stay on the surface

@misfitmaik Keeping everything inside has ruptured vessels in my heart, and mine was born out of a lack and will to understand me. Connecting with anyone now just feels fake and stressed.

@Adam Marks I'm still learning to let go, keeping everything inside is not good at all, I only realised it now
