In 2013, Architects parted with Century Media, self-releasing the documentary One Hundred Days: The Story of Architects Almost World Tour and joining Epitaph Records. They released their sixth album Lost Forever // Lost Together through the label in 2014, achieving widespread critical acclaim which has lasted since. Soon after the release of their follow-up All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us in 2016, principal guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle died after three years of living with skin cancer. In September 2017, the band released the single "Doomsday"—the last song that he was working on before his death—and announced Josh Middleton of Sylosis as their new lead guitarist. The single is included on their new album Holy Hell, which was released in November 2018 and is their first written without Searle.
All members of the band are vegan, having turned to veganism after watching several documentaries on the subject. They also promote the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, with Carter being one of its British ambassadors.

3) Architects (also ArchitectsKCMO) is also the name used by a Kansas City Soul Rock band who've released 4 albums (Keys To The Building 2005, Revenge 2006, Vice 2007 and The Hard Way 2009). They were formed from the ashes of Hellcat Records (and later Thick Records) Ska/Pop/Rock band The Gadjits. The Architects sound is a mature version of the later Gadjits material, dropping all ska influence for a Springsteen & The Who sounding rock approach. They are currently signed to Skeleton Crew Records.

I'm astounded I'm looking for a reason to leave
The years I've put into everything I have
Everything I am
I'm needing to find some peace of mind
To stop me leaving it all behind
These eyes have seen everything
It's time to realize that my head
Is trying to take me down
It's time to realize that my head
Is trying to push
Trying to push me out
I'm screaming out for help
Months
Years
Nobody hears
I'm screaming out, I'm screaming out
It's time to realize that my head
Is trying to take me down
I'm screaming out to no-one
I'm astounded still looking for a reason to leave
I'm astounded still looking for a reason to leave
The years I've put into everything I have now
The years that I've put into I am now
I'm needing to find some peace of mind
To stop me leaving it all behind
These eyes have seen everything
But I'll keep looking
It's time to take a step back
Look at my life and
Find a stable place to hide
It's time to take a step back
Look at my life and find
A stable place to hide
It's time to take a step back
Look at my life and
Find a stable place to hide
Stable place to hide
Live everyday like your last
And take nothing for granted
I'll live everyday like my last
And I'll take none of this for granted
Love as you want to be loved
And live the way that you know you should
Keep the good ones by your side
You never know when they might fly up and away
Forever in mind, my mind
I'll be by your, your side
Forever in my mind, you'll be there
The song "Year In Year Out / Up And Away" by Architects is a track that talks about losing faith in oneself and wanting to find a reason to leave everything behind. The first stanza repeats the line "I'm astounded, I'm looking for a reason to leave," indicating a sense of disbelief and being overwhelmed. The singer seems to be struggling with his/her identity, and the lack of peace of mind. The following lines "The years I've put into everything I have, Everything I am" suggest that the singer has invested a lot of time and effort into their life, but they are unsatisfied and feel like giving up.
The singer then recognizes that his/her head is trying to push them out and that they need to take a step back to look at their life and find a stable place to hide. The repeated line "It's time to realize that my head is trying to take me down" portrays a sense of helplessness and desperation. The final verse talks about living each day like it's the last and taking nothing for granted. The lines "Forever in mind, my mind, I'll be by your, your side, Forever in my mind, you'll be there," suggest that there is someone the singer is thinking about who brings them comfort and hope.
Overall, the song is a powerful reminder of how easy it is to feel lost and overwhelmed in life. It emphasizes the importance of taking care of one's mental health and finding a stable place to hide.
