Try a little tenderness
Aretha & Otis Lyrics

Oh she may be weary
Them young girls they do get wearied
Wearing that same old shaggy dress, yeah, yeah
But when she gets weary
Try a little tenderness, yeah, yeah

You know she's waiting
Just anticipating
The thing that you'll never, never, never, never possess, yeah, yeah
But while she's there waiting
Without them try a little tenderness
That's all you got to do

It's not just sentimental no, no, no
She has her grief and care, yeah, yeah, yeah
But the soft words they are spoke so gentle, yeah
It makes it easier, easier to bear, yeah
You won't regret it no, no
Young girls they don't forget it
Love is their whole happiness, yeah, yeah, yeah

But it's all so easy
All you got to do is try
Try a little tenderness
Yeah
All you got to do is, man, hold her when you wanna
Squeeze her, don't tease her, never leave her
Get to her, got, got, got to try a little tenderness, yeah, yeah
You got to know how to love her, man
Don't be surprised, man
You got to squeeze her, don't tease her, never leave
You got to hold her, brother, something, man
Try a little tenderness, yeah, yeah, yeah
You got to grab her gently, man
Don't bruise her, no, no
You got to love her, tease her, don't squeeze her
You got to try, na na na na na
Try, try a little tenderness, yeah
Watch her groove
You got to know what to do, man
Take this advice
You gotta love, squeeze, don't tease

I may get weary, women do get weary
Wearing the same shabby dress
But to one who's weary, try a little
Try a little tenderness, oh, oh, oh

I may be waiting, just anticipating
All of the things I may never possess, hmm
But while I'm waiting, try a little
Try a little tenderness

Now I may be, I may be sentimental
But I wanna say that I've had my griefs
Oh, and I've had my cares

And just a good word, soft and gentle
Makes it, makes it easier
Easier to bear

Now, I might forget it
Oh, but don't let me forget it
Love's all my whole, whole happiness
Hmm and it's so, so easy

Try a little
Oh, try a little tenderness
Tender, tender, tendernes

Try a Little Tenderness was written in 1932; it’s a Depression Era song. Hence a “shaggy dress” was all she could afford. She’s tired and needs tenderness and love. It’s a sad but sweet song.

Mrs.Franklin I never had the pleasure of knowing you. But hearing every song you sing. You feel like a long lost friend. Miss you.

QUEEN
👑ARETHA FRANKLIN👑
the disrespectful she got in her early years, I still wonder how "the bottles" got huge in the 60's , thankfully ,
👑ARETHA FRANKLIN👑 got more famous starting from the 70's!!!

@noreneal7252

She got more famous in 1967. She blew completely up after that!

Aretha Franklin is undoubtedly one of the greatest singers of all time, if not the greatest. However, when it comes down to songwriting and music, The Beatles are beyond compare. She wrote few songs of her own. And they aren't even bad, but cannot be compared to The Beatles greatest hits. Is it really any wonder how The Beatles got so popular though? Have you actually listened to any of their songs?

The queen of soul, y' all.
