My heart don't feel the same
Soft and gentle dawn is breaking
A healing heart will find a way
In time I'll wake up feeling better
In time I'll wake up feeling lighter
Im time I'll wake up, I'll wake up
In time I'll wake up feeling better
Life is loving me again
Knocking on the door of new beginnings
On the road carry on, carry on, carry on
You are my neon girl...
Put the memories in here
Like a ribbon from your hair
The only thing that we've got left
Is soft and gentle care
In time I'll wake up
And in time I'll up wake up feeling lighter
In time I'll wake up, I'll wake up
In time I'll feeling better
You are my neon girl...
You are the light of my life...
The lyrics to Arno Carstens's song Neon Girl depict a person who seems to be in a state of emotional turmoil, but slowly finds healing and peace. The opening lines "My soul is sleeping a bit lighter, my heart don't feel the same" suggest an inner struggle that the person is experiencing. However, the following lines "Soft and gentle dawn is breaking, a healing heart will find a way" point towards a glimmer of hope for the future. The repetition of "In time I'll wake up feeling better" reinforces this theme of gradual healing and growth.
The second verse seems to indicate a breakthrough, with the singer enjoying life once again. "Fridays drinks out of the bottle, life is loving me again" imply a newfound sense of freedom and joy. They also seem to be at the threshold of a new chapter, indicated by the line "Knocking on the door of new beginnings." The chorus is a declaration of love and admiration for someone who is helping the singer through their difficult time. "You are my neon girl...You are the light of my life" represents a beacon of hope and positivity that shines through the darkness.
Overall, Neon Girl is a testament to the power of healing and the importance of finding light in the midst of darkness.
