Frenesí
Artie Shaw and His Orchestra With Helen Forrest Lyrics

Some time ago
I wandered down into old Mexico
While I was there
I felt romance everywhere
Moon was shining bright
And I could hear laughing voices in the night
Everyone was gay
This was the start of their holiday
It was fiesta down in Mexico
And so I stopped a while to see the show
I knew that frenesí meant "Please love me"
And I could say frenesí
A lovely señorita caught my eye
I stood enchanted as she wandered by
And never knowing that it come from me
I gently sighed frenesí
She stopped and raised her eyes to mine
Her lips just pleaded to be kissed
Her eyes were soft as candle-shine
So how was I to resist?
And now without a heart to call my own
A greater happiness I've never known
Because her kisses are for me alone
Who wouldn't say frenesí?

Bésame tu a mí
Bésame igual que mi boca te besó
Dame el frenesí
Qui mi locura te dió
Quien si no fui yo

In four days I will be 96 years old . This is my kind of music. My wife insisted I learn to dance before we married. I lost her this past May. How I wish she were here now . My legs are not so good now but boy would like to dance to this music. Thanks for posting

I’m sorry Joe I thought I read a females name. My eyes ain’t too good anymore. But I never miss a dance. By any chance ww2? Nobody’s left. Everybody’s gone.

Just close ur eyes every day at noon and I will ask u for the next dance. Remember every day at noon EST. Will be waiting. Your never too old to live to sing to dance. Never. God bless u.

God bless you Mr Murano, so sorry about your wife, I feel the same about this music, I'm only 61 but wish I lived through those great big band days. At least we have these great recordings. Take care

I’m just an old sea dog. Real old. Former combat engineer. Seen it all. All over the world. The good the bad and all the ugly. But when I hear my sweetheart here sing. You made me love u , it’s instant melted butter. You made me love u and believe me , I didn’t wanna do it See u all soon. God bless all of u keep listening, nothing’s sweeter than this angels voice.

I just learned about Helen Forest in my late 60's and I'm in love again. It's contemporary music for me and how lovely. Can't stand with what they call music nowadays because music reflects the soul and this was the SOUL of the greatest generation.

I've always loved Helen Forrest's voice.

A wonderful selection! I could listen to this every night, her voice is so absolutely lovely.

@Peter Taylor Agreed. Today's talent, if you want to call it that, are all shouting rock 'n' roll wannabes. None can't approach the subtlety of the Helen Wards, Jo Staffords, Helen Forrests, etc. They were artists and so were the leaders and sidemen they worked with night after night. It's a damned shame that standards have dropped the way they have.
