ASHE creates a unique style of organic electronic music, best described as 'whimsy-filled soundscape' or the sweet spot between nature, space and technology. Based in Toronto, Canada, ASHE can usually be found in Montreal playing fabled venues like Newspeak and Circus Afterhours until sunrise.
Creating music for well over a decade, ASHE has had several major releases. Most notably his EPs 'melancholia' and 'Clairvoyance' on deadmau5's infamous label mau5trap but never shying away from the underground with tracks out on Toronto's 'Emercive' LA's 'Understated Recordings' and more recently 'Strangers Dream' on Dom Kanes 5302 Recordings.

Hindsight 2020
Poured rain
All over my sunny
Someday
This will all be funny, mm
We were
Playing milk and honey
Dysfunctional
I was a junkie
Someday
This will all be funny, oh oh oh
I know everything worked out the way it's meant to be
But honestly
If I had the chance
I would take it back
Jumping off your sinking ship
'Stead of going down with it, oh
One day I'll be good
Right now I'm just mad
Over being so mature
If only I was never yours, oh
I could have
Saved myself
Time and lots of money
Could've saved myself, oh
I shouldn't blame myself
I kinda saw it coming
Could've saved myself
From you
Red flags
Tended to ignore them
White flag
Never sent it soaring
So hard to forget it
In the morning, no oh
I know everything worked out the way it's meant to be
But honestly
If I had the chance
I would take it back
Jumping off your sinking ship
'Stead of going down with it, oh
One day I'll be good
Right now I'm just mad
Over being so mature
If only I was never yours, oh
I could have
Saved myself
Time and lots of money
Could've saved myself, oh
I shouldn't blame myself
I kinda saw it coming
Could've saved myself
From you
I could have saved myself
From wasting half my twenties
Saved myself
From you
I could have
Saved myself
Time and lots of money
Could've saved myself, oh
I shouldn't blame myself
I kinda saw it coming
Could've saved myself
From you
Ashe's song "Save Myself" is a reflection of hindsight and regret within a past relationship. The first verse describes the destructive nature of the relationship with the metaphor "cocaine, playing milk and honey," which indicates the illusion of a beautiful and sweet partnership that has been tragically undermined by the presence of drugs. The chorus continues to express Ashe's regret of not seeing the warning signs in the relationship, which she describes as red flags, and not holding her partner accountable, white flag. Ashe dwells on this conflict between her current, mature self and her naive, younger self who was and supposed to save herself from the relationship that ultimately did not work out.
Ashe's repeated line "could've saved myself" highlights her realization that she could have saved herself from the wasted time, money, and energy that she invested into a a harmful relationship. The lyrics expound on the regret Ashe feels as well as that realization that it was all for a reason. The music is imbued with a sad, contemplative tone with the verses beginning with melancholy piano notes and the chorus transforming into a more hopeful semblance with the addition of drums and electric guitar. Ashe's vocals also capture the complex emotions and regret she feels as she navigates through the complexities of the past relationship.
