Faded Love

That you wrote to me,
It's you that I'm thinking of,
As I read the lines
That to me were so sweet,
I remember our faded love.
I miss you, darling,
As heaven would miss the stars above,
With every heartbeat
I still think of you,
And remember our faded love.
I think of the past
And all the pleasures we had
As I watch the mating of the doves
It was in the springtime that you said goodbye
I remember our faded love
I miss you, darling
More and more every day
As heaven would miss the stars above
With every heartbeat
I still think of you
And remember our faded love
Asleep At The Wheel’s song “Faded Love” tells a story of a person missing their lost love. The lyrics suggest that the person is looking at old letters and reminiscing about their time together. They recall how sweet the person was to them and remember the love they once shared. The person misses their love more and more every day and compares their love to the stars in heaven, emphasizing the depth of their emotions.
The second verse of the song brings up memories of past pleasures that the two shared together. The mention of mating doves creates a romantic mood as the person recalls their happy times. The last part of the verse depicts a sad goodbye, which is the reason behind the person's longing for their lost love. The final chorus repeats the theme of missing the person and holds a nostalgic tone.

NOTHING sweeter then hearing this echo around a Wood Framed Dance Hall on a Sat. night. I miss those days. Just hearing this from outside as you got out of your car and headed to the entrance was enough to FILL YOUR HEART WITH JOY and Anticipation of a GOOD NIGHT'S Entertainment

I know exactly what you are saying. Whish I could go back a generation and drive into the parking lot at the Gruene Hall in 1941 and hear Bob and the boys playing Steel Guitar Rag.
